Chapter 32: An ice life
Kipo, Sarah, Leo and Zet were packing their stuff, they all agreed to go to the new home Zet found earlier today.
Kipo : I can't believe you actually found us a new home!.....how did you find it ?
Zet : I just saw it in a distance so I went to check it out...I saw a lot of creepy statues.....then it even got creepier when they moved to capture me.....then I pulled out my knives and they instantly knew who I was....and now we're here.
Sarah : so you two are famous now huh ?
Zet : yeah pretty much.....apparently everyone knows about our mission to rescue Leo.....and they are all impressed.....so now we're are the ones that the mutants empire is scared and aware of.
Leo : this isn't a good thing...you know that right ?
Zet : yeah I know.....but as dangerous as it is.....it has its own benefits...so might as well enjoy them.
Kipo : you mean fear by saying benefits.
Zet : fear....respect.....and being grateful.....we have enemies and allies now....this is exactly what happens when you are at war.
They have finished packing, Sarah then looked for Aya.
Sarah : hey girl.....are you ready ?
Aya made a noise of agreement.
Sarah : alright.....we're ready.....how far is it ?
Zet : not too far.....just outside the woods.
They started walking to the theme park.
Leo : finally.....we don't have to starve anymore....living in this tent was actually hard.
Sarah : it was the best we got.....we are not living here....we are surviving.
Kipo : well.....let's see if this will change here.
They have arrived in front of the gates of the theme park, Sarah then grabbed Zet's arm tight, he looked at her.
Sarah : are you sure of this ?...because there is no turning back from here.
Zet : don't worry...I don't trust it either.....but I know fear when I see it.....If I sense any kind of a game I will destroy each and every one of them in a matter of minutes.
Sarah then let his arm and sighed.
Sarah : I hope you're right.
Zet then looked at Kipo and Leo and smiled.
Zet : alright.....shall we ?
They all entered, the first thing they saw was these statues standing in random places.
Kipo : now I see what you mean by creepy.
Zet : Eric.....it's us.
The statues started moving, Kipo got scared, she pumped into Zet, she looked at him, he looked back at her with a small smile.
Zet : it's ok.....they are just good at playing the role of a statue.
Eric : Zet.....welcome !.....and the animal god !...it's a huge honor to meet you.
Kipo : hi.....I'm Kipo.
Eric : Kipo.....a name that suits a god.
Zet : we need to talk to Ramsey.
Eric : right this way.
They followed Eric to Ramsey's building.
Kipo : wow.....they really like us here huh.
Zet chuckled.
Zet : wait till you see the fans.
Kipo : we have fans too ?
They have arrived at the building.
Eric : sir...Zet is back.....and he has company.
Ramsey : come in.
Eric then opened the door for them.
Zet : hey Ramsey.
Ramsey : I see you brought them all....just like you said.....so what do we have here ?.....the animal god.....the shadow warrior.
Sarah : the shadow warrior...I like it.
Ramsey : and the free prisoner.
Leo : pleasure to meet you.
Ramsey : pleasure is all mine.
Zet : so....do we have a place here ?
Ramsey : we prepared our best homes for you all.....and they're next to each other.
Kipo : wait.....does each one of us takes a home ?
Ramsey : of course.....there is nothing that will make us happier than having you all with us and giving you the most comfortable places you desire.
Zet : we will have to decline that.
Ramsey : pardon ?
Zet : we will only take two homes.....one for me and Sarah....and one for Kipo and Leo....do we have a problem here ?
Ramsey : not at all....as long as you're satisfied.
Zet : well...I guess we have an agreement here.
Zet then reached his hand to shake Ramsey's, they shook hands.
Ramsey : welcome to our community.....gods.
They then got out of the building, everyone was waiting for them outside.
Eric : so....are you staying ?
Kipo : we are staying !
Eric : THEY ARE STAYING !
Everyone was cheering and celebrating, they were so happy.
Sarah : so much for being hidden.
Zet : just give them this moment.....I don't think they know what's coming.
After minutes of celebrating.
Eric : come with me....let me show you your new houses.
They followed Eric.
Eric : These 4 houses are our best...hope you settle in well.
Zet : we will only take 2 of them.
Eric : but.....
Zet : we talked with Ramsey....we will take 2 only.
human : wait.....does this mean that there are 2 empty houses next to the gods ?!
human : I call dibs !
human : no I want to live there !
They started fighting over these 2 houses, Zet looked at Eric, he didn't seem to know what to do.
Zet : alright listen everybody.
The fight stopped, he grabbed their attention.
Zet : these 2 houses will remain empty....we will bring more wo...gods...to live here with us.....but it will take a while.
human : more gods !
human : sir...Zet.....over here.
Zet looked at a woman.
woman : if you don't mind me asking...how many of you are there ?
Zet : there are 8 of us.....we are the 8 wonderkids.....so you can stop calling us gods.....my name is Zet....and I'm the lightning wonderkid.....and this is Kipo...the animal wonderkid.
guy : what about them ?
The guy was pointing at Sarah and Leo.
Zet : this is Leo.....Kipo's father.....and he is the free prisoner....and this is Sarah...the shadow warrior.....our leader.
Sarah looked at Zet in surprise, she was glad that he called her their leader.
Human : wait.....you are the shadow warrior ?...the fearless assassin of the night ?
Sarah : I guess.
human : oh my god !.....it's actually her !
They started talking to each other excitingly.
Leo : look at that.....you're are as famous as them.
Sarah : I just love their nicknames for me...the night assassin.....and the shadow warrior...this is going to be fun.
Kipo : excuse me.....Eric.
Eric : yes ?
Kipo : we need to go now.....can you just...
Eric : oh yeah...right away.
Eric then told everyone to leave them, they turned around and looked at their houses.
Zet : alright.....Kipo.....choose a house.
Kipo : that one....it's pink.
Zet : Sarah.....go ahead.
Sarah : I'll take this one...it's pretty big compared to the others...Aya will stay with us.
Zet : alright.....you can go now.
Kipo : come on dad.
Eric : um...before you go.
Zet : hm ?
Eric : would you like to have a meal.....Zet was hungry when he came here....so I'm assuming you are too.
Kipo : actually yeah....we are starving.
Eric : great.....I'll make it for you.....it will be ready whenever you are.
Kipo : thank you....Eric.
Eric : my pleasure.
Eric left.
Sarah : this guy seems pretty good.
Zet : this is his job here.....of course he is.
Kipo and Leo then got in their house, while Zet and Sarah got in theirs, Kipo started to look around her, the house wasn't really big, but it was way bigger than the tent, she liked what's she's looking at.
Leo : oh...fancy.
Kipo : this place is amazing !
Leo laughed, he was happy, because she was.
Leo : glad you love it.
Kipo : what about you.....do you like it ?
Leo : it's really good....comparing to what we used to live in.....this is like a mansion to us.
Zet and Sarah just got in.
Sarah : Look at this place...I actually like it.
Zet looked around him, he saw a bunker bed.
Zet : are these bunker beds ?
Sarah : yeah....and I'm calling dibs on the top one.
Zet chuckled.
Zet : alright....I'll go bottom I guess....what about her ?
Sarah : Aya ?.....she's going to stay near the house.....it won't take too long until you go anyway.
Zet : I'm actually curious about her...how do we make sure that she is invincible ?
Sarah : Leo is the one that made her like this.....you can ask him about her.
Zet : looks like this place will be our home from now on.
Sarah : thanks.....for finding this place for us.
Zet : hey....it's my job you know.....we're a team...I wanted to get you in this place since Kipo and I won't be here for a while.
Sarah : about that.....how long do you think you'll stay there ?
Zet : I'm guessing a month or something.....we need to find Niora...and probably live with her for a bit....and Kipo will want to discover Alaska....so yeah....a month.
Kipo then knocked on their door.
Kipo : come on guys.....we're starving.
Zet : we'll be right there.
Sarah : you're going to do this like 6 times.....you know that right ?
Zet : yeah.....this is our mission....we will do this.....we need to change the future of this world.
Sarah and Zet then came out of the house, Sarah then looked at Aya, she put her head against Aya's.
Sarah : hey girl....this is your new home now....don't worry....you won't stay here for long.....you have a journey.
Aya made a happy noise.
Sarah : I'll get you some food with us.
Zet noticed her.
Zet : sounds like you made a new friend.
Sarah : yeah.....she is pretty cool....I like her.
Eric then came.
Eric : everyone is waiting for you.....this way.
They started following him.
Kipo looked around her, there were people looking at them almost everywhere they went, she saw a group of boys looking at her, Zet saw her.
Kipo : are these boys ?...
Zet : yeah.....these are the fans....I got some too.....look to my right.
Kipo looked right, she saw girls staring at Zet.
Zet : actually.....we all have these....even your dad.
Kipo : huh ?
Zet chuckled.
Zet : the 5 houses far left.
Kipo then looked where he said, she saw women looking straight at Leo.
Kipo : eww....no !
Zet started laughing.
Zet : relax.....we'll get used to them.
Eric : we're here.....now...everyone is inside.....we made this meal in your honor.....hope you enjoy it.
They all got in the building, they saw a long table, everyone was sitting around it, waiting for them, at the end of the table, Ramsey was sitting in his chair, and four chairs were empty on both of his sides.
Ramsey : our guests have come !
Everyone started clapping and cheering, they walked in and sat next to Ramsey.
Ramsey (to everyone) : now.....as you all know....these four are in an active war against an enemy we all fear...the mutants.....their mission is to end this war.....and bring back humans....as the true....one and only dominant species in this world !
The cheering started again, they were all excited.
Ramsey : they are waiting for you to talk now.....just answer their questions.....and we will be done here.
Zet : hey Kipo.....want to go ahead ?
Kipo : I'm good....thanks.
Zet chuckled.
Zet : alright....suit yourself.
Zet then stood up and grabbed everyone's attention.
Zet : hi every one.....I believe you all know who we are....but you don't know us enough.....so....we are open to questions...you may go ahead and ask us whatever you want.....we will try to answer the best we can.
human : Mr.Zet !.....here !
Zet looked at him.
human : hi.....my name is jack....I have a question for you.
Zet : go ahead.
Jack : is it true....that you killed multiple royal guards and escaped perfectly fine ?
Zet : no.....I didn't.....I killed some....then I got knocked out.....they are really strong but then Kipo came and finished them and saved me before I got captured.
human : Mrs. Kipo.....I have one for you.
Zet sat down while Kipo got up.
human : I'm William...so what exactly is the animal god's power ?
Zet : wonderkid.....
William : right...sorry....what can the animal wonderkid do ?
Kipo : well.....I can shapeshift into another animal.....and I have this animal's powers.....even as a human.
William : what is this animal.....and can you shapeshift for us ?
Kipo : I'm an arctic wolf.....or a white wolf.....for a better name.
Kipo then changed herself to her wolf form.
Everyone was amazed by her wolf form, they all started clapping and cheering for her, she then changed back.
Kipo : alright..... any more questions ?
William : actually yes.....one more.....but it's for Zet.
Kipo then sat and Zet got up.
William : she showed us what she can do.....what about you ?
Zet : doesn't the name give you enough hints ?
Zet then started using his powers, his hands started shooting lightning up in on the ceiling.
Zet : I control.....summon....and fight with lightning.
They started clapping for him, but he could see their fear of him too, they are scared of him.
Zet : is this all.....William ?
William was smiling.
William : yes that's all.....thank you.
Zet : no problem....any more questions ?
human : I have a question for Mrs.Sarah.
Sarah got up.
Sarah : only Sarah...go ahead.
human : Rose here.....so Zet said that you are the leader of your group.....why is that ?.....isn't Kipo and Zet significantly more powerful than you ?
Sarah : well...
Zet : hold on Sarah.....I'll answer this question...as you can see Rose....yes....we are stronger than Sarah....she is just a human compared to us two.....right ?
Rose : yeah....that's what I mean...shouldn't you be the leader ?
Zet : well you are absolutely wrong.....she may be a human.....but she is the best human fighter you'll ever see.....plus...I may look strong to all of you.....but in fact I became strong because of her.....she is my teacher.
Rose : wait...Sarah....you taught Zet ?
Sarah : yeah....I did...Zet is my student.
Zet : and this is why she is our leader.....she's the reason we're all together right now.....I hope this answered you're question.
Rose : I....it....it did.....thank you.
Rose then sat in her chair, looking at the ground, embarrassed that she offended Sarah.
human : Mr.Leo....can I ask you a question ?
Zet and Sarah sat, and Leo stood up.
Leo : it's just Leo.
Karen : hello.....I'm Karen.....so why are you alive ?...don't they kill anyone who is a human prisoner?
Kipo whispered : they what.....
Leo eyes widened, he looked at Kipo, she was shocked, he realized that she knows the only secret he was trying to hide from her.
Zet and Sarah then looked at Kipo, they realized it too.
Kipo then ran out of the building and headed straight to her house.
Leo : Kipo !
Leo then followed her.
Zet and Sarah then got up and ran behind them.
Ramsey : where are you going ?!
Zet : the questions are over.....we need to go.
Zet and Sarah then got out of the building and headed to Kipo's house.
Leo was outside, the door was locked.
Leo : Kipo...can you please let me in.
Kipo didn't answer.
Leo : Zet.....you can fly.....just go talk to her.....she listens to you.....there is a window in the back.
Zet nodded, he then went to the other side of the house, he saw the window and flew to it, he found Kipo sitting on the ground crying, he knocked on the window, she looked at him, but she didn't open it, he then broke it open, got in and sat next to her.
Zet : hey.
Kipo : go away.....just leave me alone.
Zet : I know that this is hard on you.
Kipo : all my friends.....people.....everyone I grew up with....they are all dead.
Zet : well....not exactly.
Kipo : what do you mean ?
Zet : ones that are young and scientists are all alive.
Kipo : and the rest ?
Zet didn't reply, he looked at the ground.
Kipo : he killed them...he killed them all.
Zet : but you still have so many others to save.
Kipo : you don't understand.....these children.....most of them don't have their loved ones anymore....they wouldn't want to be rescued once they know.
Zet then came closer to Kipo, he reached his arms around her and hugged her tight, she was still crying.
Zet : we can't bring their loved ones back from the dead.....but the least we can do is save them from whoever he is.
Kipo then looked at Zet, she wiped her tears, she got angry.
Kipo : whoever this guy is....he is going to die.
Zet : we will kill him....no matter how dangerous....powerful....or close this person is to us.....he will die.
Kipo then got up, she knows that her father and Sarah are at the door, she went to open it.
Leo : Kipo.
Leo then got on his knees and hugged her.
Kipo : why didn't you tell me ?
Leo : I'm sorry.....I couldn't bring myself to let you know such a truth.....I just couldn't.
Kipo hugged him.
Kipo : I understand.
Kipo was burning inside, she now wants to end this war more than ever.
Leo never felt so bad in his life, he was hoping for her forgiveness.
