“I am sorry, ok? I promise not to drink from you again unless you want me to. Ok?” Paris said, putting his hands on her shoulders.
Ann looked at one of his hands on her shoulder and brushed them off and continues to walk. “Why should I believe you? Does Vampires even have religion?”
“Hey, a vampire promise is more binding and true than humans. A human can break their promise without conscience, but not a vampire. If a vampire thinks about breaking a promise, their skin starts to boil!” Paris said, walking beside her, trying to steer her in the direction of his car.
“Oh please, I am not stupid!” Ann said, feeling the anger rising up in her because Paris took her for a stupid.
Ann does her best to ignore Paris walking beside her. She ignored him flat out. She finally reached the bus stop. She got on, leaving Paris behind.
“Getting on?” a chubby woman with sleek black hair asked Paris.
“No, not today,” Paris said, turning around to make his way to his car. He looked at Ann through the window, but she just stared Infront of her.
Ann was deep in thought. ‘How will I make sure that no vampire compels or drinks from me again?’ After a few more stops, the bus stopped at the school. Ann saw that Paris' black Subaru Forester SUV was already in the parking lot. She rolled her eyes and quickly made her way into the school building. As she walked toward her locker, she started to take off her coat. She got around the corner and found Paris waiting at the locker.
“Stalking much?” Ann asked, opening her locker to hang her coat in. She slammed the locker shut and walked away.
“Ann, please wait,” Paris walked after her but got cut off by Shysie and Wynn.
“Hello stranger, where have you been all night?” Shysie asked, locking her arm into Paris. Before he could answer, the bell rang for the first period.
Lunchtime came and Ann found herself alone in the cafeteria because Jessica had some ass-kissing to do regarding her last essay.
“Mind if we join?” Shysie asked Ann. Shysie, Wynn, and Paris sat down with Ann before she could object.
“You guys take this table, I will find another, not really in the mood for company,” Ann said sarcastically and was about to lift her food tray when Shysie stopped her.
“Sit down and eat your food!” Shysie compelled her.
William walked by and Shysie was quick to invite him to sit down for lunch.
“William, have a seat,” Shysie told him, with no need to compel him.
“Hi guys,” William said, sitting next to Shysie. William offered one of his sandwiches to Shysie.
“You know I don’t eat bread,” Shysie said, snuggling her face into William's neck. To the outside world, it looked like she was kissing him, but everyone at the table knew that she was drinking from him. William became intoxicated and relax in his chair.
“Do you really have to? Here in front of everyone?” Paris asked, looking around.
Shysie pulled away from William's neck and gave a lick to seal up the teeth marks.
“No one knows, so does it really matter? It is lunchtime, so why don’t you drink from your girl over here? She tastes really good. You know you want to,” Shysie asked, looking straight at Ann.
“We are not food! You have no right! Why don’t you eat at home?!” Ann asked angrily, unable to get up, being compelled, “let me go, please!”
“I promised not to drink from her without her consent,” Paris said.
“Now, why would you do such a stupid thing? You have a good-tasting meal, a taste you finally like and you promise not to drink?” Shysie asked. “Well, I didn’t make any promises, and as you know, I don’t like humans drinking from me, so there is only so much I can drink from William over here.”
William has recovered from his intoxicated state and was now eating his lunch without a word. Shysie compelled William yesterday to remember it as a kiss, every time she drank from him.
Shysie moved over next to Ann and placed her hand on her thigh and her other on Ann’s shoulder.
“Don’t you dare!” Ann warned Shysie.
“Oh, yeah? What are you going to do?” Shysie asked mockingly. “Keep quiet and let me drink from you,” Shysie compelled Ann before Ann could get another word out. William looked confused at the scene in front of him.
“William, forget everything of the past five minutes. You are done eating. Go hang out with your usual friends,” Wynn compelled him quickly. William got up mechanically. “See you guys later.”
Paris felt a bit of anger towards Shysie for attempting to drink on Ann again but knew he should not make his feelings known. Wynn got up and Paris decided to leave with him, leaving Ann alone with Shysie. Paris hoped that Shysie will leave Ann alone if she thought he had no interest in Ann.
“She has drank from me yesterday, remember,” Paris reminded Shysie before leaving.
“You and I are best friends from now on. You worship the ground I walk on. You offer me to drink at every opportunity you get. You live to please and make me happy. You hate Paris. You have no feelings for him. He irritates you and you cannot stand being near him. You are madly in love with Wynn. You secretly admire him and hope that he likes you as well. Tomorrow at lunch, you will tell Paris that you find him creepy and that he should stop stalking you. The day after tomorrow, you will start flirting with Wynn and you cannot get Wynn out of your head. All you can think of are those blue eyes and thin lips of his. When you find a moment alone, you will tell him how much you like him. You will tell him and allow him to drink from you whenever he wants to.”
Shysie smiled at Ann, “you may go now.”
