CHAPTER 19

Somia was sitting on a chair at their living room and working on the laptop, folded her legs on the chair and put the laptop on her laps. Since that Ashar did go to work, he gave her too Off day to rest and prepared everywhere for where they were going to on Monday. So Somia was working at home, quickly wanted to finish that week works and prepared for Monday tomorrow as Ashar Said and used Sunday to rest.

It was her and her mother that were at home, her siblings had went to shop. It was her that told her mother to rest that her siblings should go and do that. As she has been getting older she need to be resting. So she was in her room resting after finished doing a little domestic work.

Somia was busy working on the laptop with a calculator beside, cross checking the financial statement sent to her by Ashar and told her to work on yesterday but whose she was unable to complete in the office when her mother came out from her room.

“Well done my daughter! How is work going!” Standing beside a chair facing Somia.

“It’s going well! And thank you very much Ma!” Said without raising her head up.

“Your siblings will soon be back from shop so I want to go and get something cook for us”

“Don’t stress yourself mom, I will go and do that when I am done even I am about to done!” Closed the laptop a little and looking at her mother.

“Don’t bother yourself, continue working and I will do that!” She said and entered the kitchen. Somia opened the laptop very well and continued with the work.

Few minutes later, she heard a sound of a message entered her phone. She put her legs down and took the phone on the table, saw an alert of seven hundred thousand Naira. She was very surprised and wanted to read the name of the person that sent it when Semirat call entered.

“Hello!” Said with surprised and with low voice.

“Hello! I just sent seven hundred thousand Naira to you for one of your siblings school fees as I have promised. I saw salary one hour ago so I decided to send that one to you, five hundred thousand for the school fees and he or she should use the two hundred thousand for pocket fees” Somia was silent for few seconds and short of words, even she had not really know that it was Semirat that sent it because it was MRS something that was there.

“Somia!! Hello!! Are you still there, Hello Somia!!”

“Yes I am with you!. You sent me seven hundred thousand Naira for my sibling school fees!”

“I have promised so I must fulfilled it, if you have seen it let me know okay!”

“It was it alert that I am looking at when your call entered, thank you very much!! I am very grateful. You that just relocated that you have many thing to do!”

“Don’t worry, my next month salary will cover that, this one is very important!”

“Thank you very much! And I will make sure I pay you back in double, thank you!!” Door opened and closed, her siblings entered and met her on the call standing and feeling like crying. Two of them looked at each other and sat down waiting for to hung up.

“You are Welcome! And enough of this greeting, friend in need is the friend in indeed. How is mom, I hope she is fine!”

“Yes she is in good health and everyone too!” Said with lower voice.

“My regard to them, that it’s what I called for. Bye!!” Somia hug up and sat down.

“What happened sis? Is everything okay!” Nibia asked when their mother came out from the kitchen and two of them greeted her.

“Who sent you money? I heard your conversation on phone!” She asked and Somia faced her.

“You remember this lady mom, that I told you that I met on the interview day that I reacted to her somehow and later be friend a days after that. Whom is the overall head of Audit department!”

“Yes remembered! What happened to her?” Asked with lower voice p.

“She is the one that sent me seven hundred thousand Naira for one of them school fees and that he or she should use two hundred thousand Naira for pocket fees!”

“She is the one that sent seven hundred thousand!” Felt sad and also happy.

“She has said it before that she will be paying for one of them school fees still they graduate, I don’t even take that serious until now that she sent seven hundred thousand Naira!”

“Ah!! God will bless her and support her too, this is what I uses to say that always be nice to people rich or poor because you don’t know who can help you!”

“She just received her salary one hour ago and she had sent it even I haven’t seen mine!”

“You have to give me her number, I must call her and greet her. No!! This is too much!!”

“She just relocated to this state and she just enrolled her son to another school last month, that she has many things she is planning on!”

“No!! I must call her, this is a great thing that she just done for me. She even has a child!”

“God will bless that Anti and be with her son, I want to see her!” Nibia Said.

“We must pay her back with huge thing when we get our inheritance back from that uncle!” Ibrahim Said and all of them were so happy.

“Off course!! That it’s a most. Somia!! Come and give me her number right now!” Said and going back to the kitchen and Somia too followed her.

Somia’s uncle was in his study room, working on the laptop and working at home as usual. All his boys were in their apartment having fun and waiting for the result on the politician that they poisoned, his wife was in her room watching movies and sitting on the chair eating cashew nut and drinking soft drink when her phone started ringing. It was one of her children that was calling.

“Hello Yusufar!! How are you? And calling by this time, I hope no problem because I know it’s night over there!” Yusufar was the younger brother to the guy that wanted to come home and his own name was Daud. Also him was an elder brother to Abdulmalik when Maliki was an elder brother Saida whom the last born and Zaira was their elder sister. So all of them were five in numbers.

“Sister Zaira has gave birth! Congratulations mom!” Said with loud voice.

“What!! Zaira has gave birth, thank God! Thank you Allah. But why don’t you call me before she gave birth or when you are taking her to the hospital?”

“We have know that everything will go smoothly, that is why Mom!”

“You should have call me now!, just let me know!” Very angry and also happy.

“We are sorry! And I am sorry on others too behalf. So when are you coming!”

“I will be there next tomorrow, am so happy. Give the phone to Zaira too let me greet her”

“She is still resting, I will call you back when she wake up. I will call dad too now!”

“Do that now, I am very happy!” She hug up, put the phone on the table and very happy. She ran out from her room and running downstairs.

Somia’s uncle was on call with Yusufar and very excited when his wife got there. Standing beside table and waiting for him to hung up. Her too was very excited and just smiling. Somia’s uncle hug up, put the phone down and faced his wife.

“Yusufar just finished calling me too, congratulations!!. Next tomorrow I will be traveling to London, want to see my granddaughter and take care of Zaira too”

“Why do you have to go there?, her siblings and her mother- in-law are there to take good care of her. So if you go now and you will say will spend to two or three months there. Who should be taking care of me when you are there taking care of her!”

“I am going there to perform my duty as her mother! Even maids are there to attend to you and take care of you if you need anything!”

“Oh!! Maids are my wife now!, they are the one I married to!” Saying with loud voice and anger.

“She too has been expecting me!, also her siblings can’t take good care of her. Not as if they have gave birth before also they are boys, it’s only Saida that it’s a girl and she knows nothing concern that!” Said with low voice.

“Her mother-in-law is there right, let her take care of her. If I am less busy may be next month, we will go together and return one week after. For you to go and stay there for two months, it’s not possible and that is final!” His wife looked at him, didn’t said anything and going back upstairs.

“Do video call with them if it’s the baby you want to see, I forgot that those ones over there you adopted them. Leave me alone here and saying the maids are there!” Shouted and looking at her climbing the staircases lowly.
