"But, aren't you still in recovery--?" Alex carefully inquired.
"I don't need any more treatments," Leo replied, his tone more curt than he originally intended.
This somewhat adverse reaction elicited surprised stares among his companions.
Upon realizing his attitude was becoming impolite, Leo quickly made to readjust his nerves.
Taking a calming breath, he addressed them again, "Sorry, I-- I didn't mean to get so worked up. This quest has just been really worrying for lately, what with all the unforeseen variables that we've confronted. I thought it'd be best to finish it as soon as possible before anything else unexpected happens."
That was partially the truth. Inwardly, Leo was actually feeling extremely stubborn towards the resolution of their party's current assignment. But even more privately, however, there was a pressing desire to reduce the burdensome trauma he was enduring.
'If I can't relieve this now, will I eventually have to quit being an adventurer?'
