Engaging the Accomplice

'I can't see a major reason why anyone would cause trouble here.'

Having returned to the ground again, Leo navigated his carrier in its original form through some narrow lanes. Using the map, he entered the territory that he and Austin last visited before the latter's forced abduction.

'Was it simply by chance that a purple glow manifested in this area?' Leo veered Mercury past a turn while pondering on the flash of light he saw. 'Perhaps someone was paying their respects?'

Despite the mysteriousness of the situation, he didn't feel very apprehensive over what he might find.

'If I could catch a glimpse of that light from midair,' Leo reasoned, 'then it's unlikely the city guards wouldn't have been able to detect it through their own resources.'

Under this seemingly logical train of thought, the young adventurer continued driving along on the current path. It wasn't until he drew near a certain building did an eerie tingle wash over his body out of the blue.
