permission to hunt

In a clearing in the middle of the village a young man with spear in his hand was standing in front of group of children

"Alright before we go pick out your training weapons I'll go over some Of the creatures you might have to face near the village"

The man said as struck the blunt part of the spear on the ground, grabbing the attention of the children

The children all went silent and paid attention

"The most common one is the bull pig, it has the body of a normal pig but the strength of bull"

The children had a knowing look as it was the most common type of meat they ate

"the next one is the stone ant, these ants can grow up to half a meter in height and they usually go hunting in groups of ten"

As the young man walked back and forth he continued

"but that's not the worst part you know why?"

The group of children all shook their heads

"because they got the name stone ants from their ability to be able to transform themselves into stone for. 30 seconds"

The majority of the group of children shivered from the description provided to them

"But you don't have to worry about those creatures for now because for the next year you guys are only going to be training against each other"

Some children were relieved

"But we'll go on feild trips sometimes so be ready"

"yes sir!!" the children shouted

"Alright now all of you follow me so we can get your training weapons"

The young man started marching as the children followed in an orderly line

They were currently at the training fields and the barracks was right next to them

"Hope I'm not to late" as the children marched with the the young man leading them, they didn't notice a extra child had joined them

When the group finally arrived at the barracks

A hut twice as big as the normal hut was seen

. There was a guard sitting on near the door

The man guarding was displeased once he looked at the group

The young man leading the group of kids said as he passed the guard

"cesar I'm to take training weapons for the new recruits"

"I'm aware, but there are no freaks allowed in the barracks "

The man guarding said as he looked at the group of children in disgust

'Oi, not this again, can't this guy give me a break'

Shin thought to himself while looking down in defeat about being discovered

" look I don't want to be involved in your petty vendetta"

The young man holding the spear said

"then just keep walking Chester"

The man guarding said as he stepped out of the way of the group

Chester hesitated then scoffed as he passed the guard

'it's not his fault he led to his mother's own death, too bad I can't intervene' he thought

The group of children followed behind Chester, some confused by the interaction others already gossiping to each other

As the group passed the guard he barely looked at the other children, his sight trained on a singular figure amongst them

When the figure finally got in front of him he drew his weapon and pointed it at the child

"No freaks allowed past this point sorry" cesar said as looked child on the other side of his sword

"Really were even using swords now"

Shin said staring at the sword uncomfortably close to his face

"well, thought it'd intimidate you more, anyway"

Cesar withdrew the sword

"you remember our agreement"

And took out the whip strapped to his waist

"yeah I remember, you know oneday I'm going to kill you right"

Shin said in a rather calm manner as he turned around and lifted up his shirt showing dozens of back scars

A sadistic smile adorned cersars face

"and they say people in the villages can't make art"

"Do it already" grumbled shin

Cesar gripped the whip harder and lashed out

Leaving a gash on shins back

"one down 9 more to go"

Cesar had a smile on his face that sent chills down the backs of Chester and the group of children watching the scene

As the sound of a leather hitting flesh rang out again and again the crowd of children watching as blood started to drip out of the open wounds on shins back,

Some turned away from the scene and covered their ears while a few of the more informed and mature ones watched on in silence

After lashing out ten times Cesar stepped away from shin

"Ah there, now that that's settled you may go"

Cesar said as he stared at the bloody back of shin

"If I didn't know any better I'd think you were going easy on me today Cesar"

Shin said as he rolled his shirt back down, covering his mutilated back, seemingly immune to pain his body was feeling

Seeing this scene again for the umpteenth time Cesar was baffled and enraged

"same time again next month, right brother" Shin said sarcastically as he walked past cesar

"why you!!" Cesar stepped closer

"ah ah, you've already reached the allotted ten whips a month, don't you test me.. or the village herbalist"

Cesar froze and Shin walked right past him

"Shin don't forget"

Shin halted his steps and turned around

"what!!"

Whoosh,Boom!!!!!!

At tree closest to the two fell and mad a thud

Shin stared at Cesar who had just cut down a thick tree using one swing of his whip

"As soon as you become an official warrior, that old coot the herbalist wont be able to stop me from using my full force and ending you"

Cesar said as if a still to come battle had already been won by him

Shin looking at the display only sighed and moved towards the group again

'Too bad that was probably the last time you get to do this too me,'

Shin thought looking at the iron swords, spears, maces, bows laying on the ground, all these training equipment

'Now I can finally get the herbalist to take me hunting, Now I finally get to start harvesting souls'
