I was NEVER the popular kind of girl. I am more into books than clothes and make-up, rather talk than drink, people would say I am an introvert. "Annie, you'll be late for school" yelled my mom. "You comming?" asked my brother as he stepped into my room and immediately left. My dad died a few years ago, so my brother and my mom are everything I got. I was never told how. "Can we pick up Cassie?" I asked my brother. He was a few years older than me, so he was driving me to school. And Cassie, she was my best friend "Yeah sure, no problem. Take your lunch and let's go. By the way, you sit in the back, Adrian is comming with us. His dad needs the car." Adrian was our neighbor and my brothers best friend. "sure" I answered and took my lunch. "bye, mom!" we yelled as we walked out the door. "Hey guys, what's up?" Adrian was waiting for us at the car. As always, he had his big smile on his face, ocean blue eyes, and his hair was messy. However, girls loved him. He and my brother were the most popular guys at school. "Nothing bro" answered my brother, Nick. "Hey, Adrian" i said with a smile. he opened the door for me, which was kind of unusual, and every girl at the school would become a snake just becouse of that. "Thanks" i said and gave him a smile, while looking in his eyes. I have no idea, why he is so attractive to me, even though he is not my type of a guy. "what the hell dude? Don't flirt with my sister!" Nick said. "What? i just opened the door for her. Don't you want for her to be treated nicely?" Nick didn't answer. just went on his side of the car. "By the way, don't forget today is" Adrian reminded Nick. What was todey? Nick hasn't said anything just went into the car, so the same did Adrian. "We are piciking up Cassie" Nick told him, with an unusual voice. Somehow it is an unusual day. "Yeah, sure" said Adrian with a big smile on his face - again.

The road to the school took 30 minutes. And to Cassie about 10. Since the guys talked boy stuff, I got lost in my thoughts. Normally i was thinking about all the stuff i had to do that day. Yet today i kind of didn't. i was thinking about boys. especially one. "Hey guys!" said Cassie. I didn't realize we were already at her place. "hey girl" said the boys, while she hugged me. She started talking about the rumors at school. She was the talkative person in our friendship, i was the listener. But I kind of didn't. I was still in my thoughts, while acting as i would be listening. i couldn't get HIM out of my thoughts.

As we got to school we separated from the boys and went to our lockers. "What's up with you today?" she suddenly asked. "nothing" i said automatically. "sure" she said. "when you are ready to talk about it, i am here" she said. that is one of the many reasons why i loved her so much. "see you later" she said and went to her class, and i went to mine.

School wasn't anything interesting. At least not for me. Typical day at school. Meanwhile Cassie heard some new rumors, which she told me immediately after school, while we were waiting at the car for the boys. After the update she asked me "do you have any plans for your 16th birthday?" she knew i don't like birthdays, especially mine. and don't ask me why. i just don't. "you know i don't, and no, you are NOT allowed to throw me a party. i won't show up for it." She did it every year, even though she knew i didn't want them. but that's her thing. "come on, it is your sweet 16" she said looking at me with her puppy eyes. "Cassie, no. anyway, it doesn't matter since we got family plans on Saturday" i said to her. Mom planned a trip for us. she knew i don't like birthdays and tried to get me out of it. "oh... can I come?" she was excited again. " I don't know, i would have to ask my mom" "where are you going?" she asked. "i don't know. it is a surprise." i answered. then i saw the guys. girls were surrounding them as usual. except this time i was jealous. And not for the popular part.

on the ride home, all of them talked about some news at school. i was just thinking and watching. "see you Cassie" the boys said, as we got to her place. "talk to you later" i said to her, we hugged and she went out of the car.
