Chapter Seven

All the guys are in the house except the one guy who told them that entering is a risk.

Twelve minutes left, Robert, they must stay there and not leave the house. Robert is falling asleep behind the wheel.

"Can we pull over a bit?" No, let me drive you to sleep a bit. Julia grins, "why are you grinning? says Robert,"

Because those guys are taking care of, the bomb just exploded, that is great.

"Robert pulls over on the side of the road, and Julia climbs to the front" Julia is now behind the staring wheel.

"Robert doses off as she drives" finally reaching the end of the tunnel, there is an open freeway, and it is dark she can barely see on the road,

She now pulls over at a Garage filling up the tank as she takes off. It is one am. Her eyes are starting to feel heavy.

It starts to rain as Julia pulls over into a driveway with trees all around them. Waking Robert up, she tells him to go to the Caravan.

"Are we safe to pull over?"

"Yes says Julia" this town is a one-horse town, and there are no people around here unless you want to continue driving?

"No, we should rest, or else we will be tired in the morning. They now go to the caravan and get ready to sleep."

Robert lays beside her and puts his arm around her, and whispers," do you think we will be able to adapt to the new life?"

Yes, we will, but this will take a while before adapting to the new lifestyle.

"I hope we are making the right decision,"

" We are making the right decision, Julia whispers," back as she squeezes his hand, "it is what is best for Kathy."

@Today on the news, the vaccination that we once thought would save lives had an unfortunate side effect that affected millions of people. We do advise "if you have not taken the vaccination to stay indoors,"

"There has been an antidote, but it is now unconfirmed where the antidote is. Our scientists are working closely on this case to make more antidotes. This could take months"

The effect to those who took the vaccination appetite will decrease, they will become more aggressive since the vaccination there has been a tremendous amount of murders.

"Everyone is trying to get hold of the antidote,"

so I would strongly advise staying indoors and not opening the door for anyone. The after effect of this vaccination remains unconfirmed of what else the person who took it is capable of.

If you notice any of the above signs on anyone, we urge you to step away from that person as this can spread with just one cough our statistics has been increasing with a daily amount of thousands being affected

"MR President, there is an important phone call coming throughshall I put it through? "

"Yes, Please Lisa"

"How is it that the Antidote went missing, MR President?

"We do not have much clarity on this, but we are investigating this."

"This is an inside job."

"We had a suspects however,"

When we went to her house, there were dead bodies all over the place."

"It looks like a bomb went off"

"Find whoever took the person who took the antidote, right on it, MR. President, "

"Honey, wake up. We need to hit the road it is 07h30."

Julia stretches as she stands up while Kathy is still asleep. Julia and Robert now move to the front of the 4x4.

"There is a lot of oncoming traffic. I wonder why they go there and go in the direction they come from."

"Julia stares over at Robert and thinks back to their first Prom night,"

"Robert was her first love, and they have been together ever since the evening of the Prom"

She wore a beautiful white lace dress and she remembered how he wore a white tuxedo they danced in the night.

We are close by, taking a turn up this mountain, she says as they were traveling, she stares out of the window they are high up on the hill, she looks across the grey sky and then looks down, they are very high up the mountain.

Luckily she is not afraid of heights.

"So where is this place? "Says Robert. "We are close by. They now reach the top of the mountain."

There are trees and grass all over until they reach a narrow passage that leads through trees on either side.

They hear the birds chirping, and the place is quiet. Reaching a large silver fence with a painted black eagle ok the top of the wall, the gate automatically opens, the drive-through is 5km as they arrive, there is a colossal house the house looks discolored white and looks like an old deserted house.

Julia climbs out of the car carrying her blankets and bags of clothes,

"Robert what are you waiting for? "

"Let's go inside"

"Robert takes Kathy,s hand and walks over the gravel as they reach this door"

What could have once been a lovely rose garden was now a hostile thorn bush, and the swings where children used to spend moments of joy and innocent childhood were now creaking in the most haunted way.

"What was terrifying bout this abandoned place the most was its isolation."

As Robert lifted his head to defy its insubstantial stare, something caught his eye. He had not observed now, as the infinitely long walls made it almost impossible to see: there was no ceiling. Where had it gone?

This question made him less afraid of the building and more curious about what had happened to it.Julia and Robert walked towards the entrance door. From there, the whole structure appeared to be monstrously massive.

Robert honestly thought inferiority would cease when he entered the building. It did not. From the inside, it looked as big as ever before, for there were no floors or ceiling.

Four endless walls and a staircase leading to the cold foggy sky. It was almost as if it were a message, telling him that it was all over... but was it?

The dust, cobwebs, and graffitis on the walls and corners brought him back to reality. They were not the first to experience this unwelcoming, macabre pile of bricks.

The remains of furniture that lay disorderly cluttered on the floor reminded me of death, for this had once been the home of many happy lives and therefore full of life itself.

And it was all gone and replaced by rats, spiders, and their cobwebs, dirt, dust, fleece, and trash.

And trash. How sad to be calling what had once been cozy, comfortable sofa trash. For it was ripped, dismantled, and stained.

Abandoned. Newspapers that gave the date of a hundred years ago - barely, for they were covered in dust. Boxes that read "FRAGILE" where one could identify broken pieces of jars, plates, and glass.

There were no answers in there, simply the smell of rot, the sound of creaking, the touch of a rough surface, the sight of a horror scene, and the taste of regurgitated food.

For they felt, anyone would certainly throw up. It was too much for them. As the cold wind rushed against Julia,s face, she fled out of that distorted dwelling.

"There was a lot of work to be done said Robert"

As they walked to the kitchen, it was full of dust, but everything was still intact, Robert went to the electric box and turned on the power, and they were delighted to see that the administration was still acceptable.

I could get used to this, says Robert, but the isolation would drive me insane what is your plan exactly, Julia. Well, this is a safe hideout, for now, said Julia.

"The reason I chose this place is that it has a basement which is not hidden and large enough to accommodate us"
