The mother, Mrs Eric was afraid of worstening their situation. To the other villagers she and her daughter were already outcast. So if anything was reported negativity about them to the elders council would throw them out of the village.

But by handing the people over to the council their fate would be decided, if the girls are lucky they would be asked to work in the palace. But the unlucky ones, the ones they find suspicious would be executed, or have them all executed.

She knew this was one thing her daughter was trying to avoid, especially when one of the girls doesn't seemed to be a complete human.

"Fine they can stay. But for a week, I don't want ears lurking around my windows." Mrs Eric said.

"Oh thanks Mom, you are the best!" Amelia hugs her mother in excitement.

"Ok enough young lady, go make sure those girls are comfortable. And give them something to eat" Mrs Eric said.

"No probs Mom" Amelia replied.

"And no using of magic in their presence" Mrs Eric said.
