Chapter 43: Without Limitations

Ysa also came home from Constellation quite late already. She had to finalize some paper works that she needed to send over to Starlight to support her claims regarding Mia's manuscript. She wanted to finish everything before Mia goes home.

As soon as she reached the second floor landing she saw Mia trying to open the door of her apartment, she looks like someone who came out of the hospital. On right arm, she has a gauze taped on like she was on dextrose or something, she is pale as white and was barely able to hold herself up.

She walked up to her and grabbed her keys and stuffs and guided her to enter her apartment, Mia can only look at her and bitterly smile, she knows that Ysa have a vague idea on why she disappeared out of nowhere.

'I'll tell her myself' she noted to herself as Ysa helped her with her things.

Mia was already asleep when she heard her phone ringing, it was Florence, a friend who is a doctor that currently back in the country. She already has an idea what Florence is going to tell her. She already missed 3 sessions of her therapy.

2 years after going into hiatus, Mia suffered a car accident that almost took her life. She was on a business trip back away from home when she was hit and run by a car, until now nobody knew who was the driver of that car, it was abandon at a river banks and they could not trace who owns it. Apparently it was a declared stolen car.

After the collusion, she didn't lost a lot of blood but she was unconscious for almost 4 days, the hospital can't contact any relatives or guardians because her phone was smashed at the accident.

When she wake up, she still needed to stay at the hospital for several days until she was given a clearance that she can safely go. She passed all test aside her CT Scans.

On the right side of her brain there was a blood clot developing, thus the headaches and the blurriness of eye sight that she was experiencing in the past few days. The doctors have encouraged her to undergo a surgery that would keep her out of danger.

The down side is that if anything goes wrong she could fall into coma or lose her memories, none of which Mia wants to happen.

She declined the surgery and decided to sign the waiver that she know the consequences of her actions and the hospital is not going to be responsible for what ever will happen to her.

Nothing, happened to her until last year, she passed out in the streets and was hospitalized.

Her scans showed that her blood clot form last year's accident has now became a 3 cm tumor.

Mia was then passed to a neurosurgeon, who was a friend of her from high school. It was Florence. She declared to Florence that she have no desire for a surgery and like her other doctors Florence have told her the same consequences that she will experience if she decided not to take the surgery.

It's going to be worst this time. The headaches alone would be a great suffer. But the fact that she might go blind or lose her hearing was the worst. Eventually if it grows, she will die.

Florence insisted that she undergoes a radiation therapy to lessen the size of the tumor until a sixe that they could laser it to dissolve.

She was on medication for 3 months and started the therapy, she was diligently going until her 4th session when she was scanned again and showed no changes at all.

That is the reason why she decided to settle her issues on the day Terrence went inside the convenience store she was working before. She doesn't want to die without doing something for her friends that she treated as a family.

Mia also informed her family of her situation and told them that she already have lived a good life and this is the last thing that she wants to do.

Her parents disagreed at first but she managed to convince them, thou it going to be hard on her parents, she doesn't want anybody to suffer more because of her condition.

But now, she have to tell Ysa the truth, she doesn't want Ysa to ask, for the first time, she wanted to tell her first.

"If you don't want to tell me, I won't force you" Ysa was the first to speak between the two of them.

"No, I want to" then Mia went near Ysa and hugged her "I'm dying Ysa" she can feel that her body can't keep up anymore, that's why she needs to rush things or else she wont be able to finish everything up.

After hearing the details from Mia herself, Ysa hugged her tightly and started crying. It was painful to know that her friend that she treats as her older sister is now in front of her saying that she's dying.

"If you have to undergo a surgery, do it, let's do everything we can so that you will stay with us" Ysa barely said to Mia.

Mia once again bitterly smiled. She knows herself that she already missed the timing.

"I already missed the timing Ysa. If I undergo the knife right now, consequences are things I cannot face."

Then Ysa just cried even louder, she cannot accept the fact that she was just beside her all this time but she missed the most important thing about Mia, that she is sick.

"But we cannot afford to lose you!" then she cried again. Mia's heart is breaking seeing her little sister cry her heart out. This is exactly when she doesn't want to tell it anybody.

It is more heartbreaking for her to see her love ones crying for her.

"You cannot tell this to them alright?" she asked Ysa in a soft voice. She is still tired from the days of treatment. But she was hoping for the best and praying for a miracle.

Ysa just nodded at her request and hugged her once more.

She also wants to survive this. She also wants to live a normal life where she can freely tell the person she loves what she feels.

She wanted to love Terrence as hard as she can without limitations.
