Chapter 48: Deal Maker
Patrick can't believe his eyes that right in front of him is the very person that occupied his mind since that blessed day that they have met.
"I know that the two of you both know each other so I'll cut down to the chase" then Argon looked up at Patrick who is still staring at Ysa, "She's not going anywhere bro" then Patrick fixed himself.
"Yeah, we both know each other" then Patrick face Ysa "right Ms. Howard?" then he tried to smile as sweetly as he can, who on earth would have thought that his best friend and the girl who grabbed his attention are close to each other.
By hearing how Patrick called Ysa as Ms. Howard, Argon bursts into laughter, his best friend is trying his best to be as formal as he can and Patrick looked so face.
"Can you stop that? It doesn't suit you at all, you're giving me chills man" then Argon took a bite of his food "By the way she said that you guys have something to talk about"
"As a matter of fact, we do have a conversation to finish" then Ysa took a sip of her coffee that she ordered before sitting down with them, it felt awkward sitting down in front of two men but she just have to bear with it until she finalized her deal with Starlight.
"I have received the message from your secretary regarding your plan with the condition that I gave you, I have no complaint in your plan, and we can sign the contract as soon as our legal team have approved of it. Just send me a copy through email" then Ysa looked at Argon, she was waiting for Argon to also state his reason why he actually met up with Patrick Fraust.
"Alright, so you have no complains about using the media in this matter"
"Sounds good to me" it was Argon who answered Patrick's question that made Patrick look at him.
"I'm not talking to you" then he again faced Ysa "right Ysa? I can call you Ysa right? Since this older brother of yours are my best friend" then he flashed his goofy smile to Ysa.
"I guess, then I'll be comfortable and treat you like an older brother after we sign the contract"
"On a different matter, I have something to tell you why I went all the way to your office" it was Argon this time that wants to finish his assignment for today, he needs to remind himself that he have a deadline with the things that he need to accomplish or else.
"I knew it! You wouldn't be coming to me if you don't have any agendas, so what can a Patrick Fraust do?" then Patrick faced Argon who is sitting beside him.
"Do you still remember the last thing that Mia Lee told you before she went out of your office?"
Patrick then tried to remember the day that he all got excited thinking that Mia will be finally signing with them, after agreeing that she will be a contributor of the Starlight, she also notified him that the manager of Luna might one day approached him and that he will be doing her a big favor if he agrees to what they will ask.
"Of course, I can still remember it"
"Well you see, Luna is currently breaking up the ties with Viewbay and I want them to sign with you after the announcement of their departure on Viewbay's end, if you want, if not I'll just look for another company where I can sign my artist" Argon only want the best for the kids and signing with Starlight will let them be more free on their craft.
He knows Patrick more than he knew his brother, Patrick knows his boundaries and knows how to handle people, and he is really born to be a leader and a businessman.
"Now that's a news for me" Patrick didn't know that Argon Grant was the one who is managing Luna and he didn't know that Luna was on the rocks with Viewbay, as far as he knows, Luna was basically the bread and butter of Viewbay,
"Well, the decision will remain yours but Ysa and I both agreed with Mia that if Luna will be signing with another agency it will be better for the group if it's with Starlight" Argon then finished his food and Ysa took a sip of her coffee before speaking up.
"You see, Mr. Fraust, Our deal goes both ways, you get Luna and Constellation as simple as that"
Silence took over Patrick, this deal was way too good to be true to be honest and he have no reason to decline, this is what he always wanted, but he is not sure that it should be like this, it's way too easy.
"This is way too easy for me to believe" then he hold Argon's shoulder, "What's the catch?" he doesn't believe that he's not going to pay a high price sooner or later.
"I'll fill you in with the details after you decide. It's just a yes or no" it was clearly a confidential matter that even Argon won't tell me unless I decide on their favor.
In the company's bylaws he wasn't allowed to decide on a whim without consulting his legal team especially on the matters of signing a contract.
But his gut feel have been turning and churning and his conscience have been yelling in his mind to say yes.
If he think about it, this is a very good deal for him,
First, he gets the Constellation giving him access to an array of demos that his company's talent could pick from and release as a single or as an album.
Second, getting Luna would definitely put his agency into lime light paving way to his unknown artist that they are struggling to introduce to the world and surely the money will flow in, he is aware that Luna carries some big brands as their sponsors.
Lastly, but the most important, is that Ysabelle Howard is right in front of him and will be everyday if he agreed on working with them. Now that's the deciding factor.
Having Argon would only be a plus but Ysabelle Howard here is the deal maker.
"Alright, but that is not the final decision with the matters with Luna, I still have to consult my people"
"No problem" then Argon put his arms on Patrick shoulders and messed up his hair "Thanks bro!"
"Fill me in with the details!" Patrick said while trying to escape on Argon's attack on his hair.
