Chapter 70: Companion

Mia took the responsibility of overseeing all of the studio recordings for the 6-act comeback of all the Starlight Artists, almost all of the producers involved are also present.

It has been Constellations tradition to have all of the producers watch the recordings for them to familiarize themselves with the artist so that they could work on another project, in that way, most of them are familiar with their style, voice, and range.

They are currently recording Erina, one of the solo artists that will release a single.

"That's a good take, we can wrap up now" Then she turned around just to see a familiar face that shouldn't be there at the moment.

"What the hell are you doing here Max?" Mia just raised an eyebrow to her unwanted visitor. 'He should be rehearsing at the moment

"I'm just here to check up on the song in which Maurice used my lyrics" Then she just shrugged her shoulders "Do what you want" then Mia turned her attention to the recording on the computer and focused on their work.

By that time, Erina got out of the recording booth to listen to the recording and see if she needs to repeat some lines.

As soon as she opened the door to the control room, the first person that she saw is Busker, it was only yesterday that she figured out his real name, Max.

"Uhm Hi?" she tried to get his attention.

"Hi! Long time no see, Erina?" she just chuckled at the awkwardness and approached him naturally.

It's understandable that they don't know each other's name, it was her fault for running away that day without even leaving her name or contact details.

"If you are just going to catch up you guys can do that anywhere but not here." Mia said while working on the tracks.

"I'm sorry, I just want to know if I still need repeat some lines?" Erina then approached Mia and sat down beside her,

'Mia can totally be oblivious' then Max just shook his head in disbelief. He clearly told all of Luna his story, but this girl won't seem to cooperate.

"Is there some part that you want to repeat?" Max just sat down on the couch and started watching them work on the tracks.

'He just hopes that they will finish early, it's a weekend he wants to go out.

"Thank you for today" Erina said her goodbyes and went together with Max.

Max just signed bye to her and went on giving his full attention to his first love.

Mia just chuckled and shook her head in disbelief, she really thought that Max will just be wondering around his whole life.

"Good for him"

Then silence once again enveloped the studio. All that Mia could hear are the fans of the equipment running. She just stared into the air for awhile and took in the solitude of silence.

'It's lonely but comforting '. Then she started working on the recordings earlier.

Time flies when she's working, a lot of her co workers have come in and out of the control room but she is still there, when she felt the stiffness of her back, she stretched and looked at clock on her computer, it's already 8 in the evening.

"I should eat" then she went ahead and finalize her work and saves it.

Before leaving the studio, she checked her phone but she got 0 notifications.

Mia just shoved it again in her pocket and gather her things.

"What should I eat~" and turned the studio lights off.

Since it's a weekend, there are only a few of them still working, most of them already went home.

Silence is filling her ears.

Even Ysa and Maurice are already home.

Mia just sadly smiled.

Going out of on the streets made it worse, seeing people together is making her more and more alone.

"This won't do, I'll just go home." Then Mia went ahead and went to the convenient store nearby to buy dinner.

For all the people leaving alone like her, buying food from a convenient store is the norm, and in the past 4 years that she has been living alone, she has tried almost all of the available meal at the store,

She is currently contemplating on getting some instant ramen or rice bowl, Mia have been standing seriously in front of the ramen section and just sighed deeply.

Mia then began her shopping spree, form ramen to drinks to chips, she just got everything that captured her eyes.

"Hey!" in the middle of her shopping spree, someone called her attention. She tried to look for the source of the voice that called her until someone tapped her in the back.

"Boo!" then she calmly turned to see who called her.

"You weren't even surprised" It was Lance who called her out, "I recognized your voice already" then she continued putting stuffs on her basket.

"So cold, what are you buying for?" then he grabbed the basket from her hands and followed her around "Dinner" Mia shortly replied.

"Dinner? All of this?" Lance then looked at the basket, it was full of MSG based food.

"Yup, I can't decide on what to eat so I'll just buy all I want" then she grabbed the basket and went to the counter to pay.

"Then come with me after this"

"Why would I?" then Mia payed for the stuffs she got only to be taken away by Lance.

"Because I will be holding this as hostages"

Mia just smiled and playfully played with him by trying to snatch the bags from him.

Lance arrival gave her a warm feeling that in this sea of people, she is still someone and somebody can recognize her.

More over it made her realize that it is still better to be around other people.

As they walk towards a restaurant, they filled the silence between them with small talks like everybody else around them, making them blend into the crowds on the streets.

Just having someone beside you in the sea of crowds makes a difference, unlike how Mia looked like when she was walking alone, she is more cheerful now having someone to have a small talk.

A privilege that everyone takes for granted, not everyone have someone they can talk to

Mia stopped for a while and looked at Lance

"Thank you, Lance"

Lance just looked at her tenderly and pats her head.

"Call me when you have no one to eat with"

Then they just started to talk and laugh the night away.
