Tony walked away as stoutly as his back appeared, strong in Kaidens opinion. This threw the latter off balance to the point that even the sweet gossip that ensued on the table afterwards between Tolliver and Marian did not make much of any sense to him.
He soon got up in a manner that startled the two talkers.
"Kaiden, are you okay?"
It was Marian, who asked him.
"I am fine." he responded coolly to her. "I just need to rest up for a bit."
Kaiden left for his bedroom at the top floor of the house.

Kaiden spent the rest of the night peering at the low ceiling inside his room. That night, the skies felt cooler as its natural chill lambasted the components of his simple room, and pretty much his mood all at once.
