CH 6

Rose rushed back to Damien's office

"Great, he's not here yet" She said as she made herself comfortable.

As soon as she sat down, Damien entered into his office. Rose sprang up and walked up to him.

"Big brother, everything alright?" Rose asked.

"Mmm" Damien replied as she took his seat in his office. Damien looked at her and said, "Why?"

"Oh right, say hello to your new secretary"Rose said proudly.

Damien knew she must have pulled some strings to get this job.

Lexus who was in his office sneezed, "One b*stard must be talking about me"

"Don't need one"

Rose felt as if someone used a pin to poke her fully blown balloon.

"Oh" Rose said, disappointed. But in the next moment, she regained her cheerfulness and said, "It doesn't matter, I'll still stay with you and do my job" She said as she took her seat comfortably.

"Whatever" Damien said nonchalantly but his eyes were filled with smiles.

The atmosphere in Damien's office was peaceful. Damien was typing away in the desktop while Rose was busy staring at him, Rose thought, 'Its true what they say, Men are most handsome when they are working' Rose cupped her cheeks and sighed.

Her sigh broke Damien's concentration as he looked at her, "What's wrong?"He asked, he couldn't bear to give her any work to do, so her job was just to sit and stare.

"Hungry?"

Rose nodded. Damien got up, took his jacket and went out, he looked back and found out that Rise was still staring at him.

"Let's go..."Damien paused and thought that she might not understand him, so he added,

"... Cafeteria"

Damien said as he walked on, he could hear her small footsteps as she ran after him.

'What's wrong with me? Why do I keep wanting to explain myself better to her?' Damien thought as he walked towards the Cafeteria.

"Big brother, wait up" Rose said as she puffed up her cheeks.

Damien did not turn back to look at her but his paced slowed down. Rose finally caught up with Damien and held his hand and said, "Let's go"

On getting to the Cafeteria, Both Damien and Rose lined up to collect the company food.

Damien got his and started looking for a table, he found one that was empty and he walked over briskly. Settling down, he looked around for Rose, he found that she was still at the serving counter, staring at the food she was given.

Right now, an intense battle was going on in Rose's mind, she was debating whether she should just ask her bodyguard to buy some better food from the restaurant, or she should just man up and eat this food. But she fear that she won't be able to digest it afterwards.

'Oh, what should I do? If I order, won't Damien think that I'm too wasteful? Won't he compare me with other rich ladies? Won't he...'

"What's wrong?"

Rose looked up to see Damien staring at her.

On seeing that beautiful face, she thought to herself, 'No, I can not give up now. Robert said all men loves soft ladies, so I must continue to show myself as a fragile lady in front of Damien'

"It's nothing" Rose said as she smiled.

"Oh... Let's go" Damien said as he led her to the table.

As Rose watched Damien eat, she wondered how someone could look so graceful with just eating. Damien looked up and caught her staring at him. He touched his face and wondered if there was something on it.

"What?" Damien couldn't stand her stare and had to ask.

"Nothing", Rose said as she looked down at her food and wondered where to start.

Seeing as Rose started eating, Damien nodded and continued eating his meal.

A while later, Damien noticed that Rose kept keeping aside all the veggies and green beans and ate only meat.

Rose looked at the spoon that placed some meat inside her food and looked up at Damien,

"I don't like meat that much" He said as he also scooped up the green beans and some veggies from her plate.

'Why am I doing this?' Damien thought to himself. 'It must be because I don't want the food to go to waste. Yes, that's probably the reason.'

Damien successfully convinced himself and said to Rose, "You eat the remaining veggies. Nutritional" He looked at her and waited till she put a vegetable in her mouth and continued eating.

Rose was over the moon, 'Big brother cares for me" She smiled as she continued eating the veggies.

But somebody just had to ruin this beautiful moment for Rose.

Cass had just been released for break, as usual she searched around for Damien, although she knows that she can't have him but she still admires him from afar.

She sights him but...

'Who's that b*tch sitting by his side? Doesn't she know the hidden rule of this company?'

Cass walked up to Damien's table, if it was any other day she wouldn't dare but today...

"Damien" Cass called out softly.

Damien frowned at her voice, he who has been used to Rose's soft voice for a while now couldn't help but compare this with hers... He came to a conclusion, this one was a far cry to Rose's.

Rose looked up, call it a woman's intuition. She felt someone was about to steal her man. 'No no no... I have to save Damien'

'Damien, I see that there's an empty seat here. I have been working since morning, can I sit here? There's no other space anymore" Cass said softly.

Damien frowned and looked around, true enough all the spaces were taken.

All the other young ladies in the cafeteria who also has a crush on Damien cursed Cass for her shamelessness.

"Big brother Damien, who is she?" Rose couldn't and wouldn't entertain a person like this who is also hitting on Damien.

"No one important" Damien could not be bothered to introduce Cass. He was already in a bad mood due to as the smell of Cass perfume was already ruining his appetite.

"Ok, Big brother Damien" Rose said and smiled.

Rose was indeed very happy with his reply, Cass, on the other hand was broken. She heard the snickers around and she could feel that people around were laughing at her.

"Damien, what do you mean by that?" Cass said as tears begin pooling in her eyes.

Damien looked at her and felt disgusted. He then looked at his unfinished meal and felt it no longer palatable to him.

"After the nights we spent together, how could you say me I'm not important" Cass said as she sniffled.

Rose immediately looked up from her food and looked at Damien.

"Work. Distanced" Damien said.

Rose understood immediately and believed Damien. She looked at this lady and was pissed.

'How dare she try to deceive me?'

"Big brother Damien, I'm done with my meal. Can we go back now?" Rose said as she tapped him.

Damien looked at his unfinished meal and nodded. His 15 years rule of always finishing up his food was thrown out if the window.

Damien stood up with his plate in hand and looked around before finally walking towards Cass.

Cass was happy, she looked smugly at Rose and though to herself that perhaps Damien thought that he was too harsh on her and wants to apologize.

She looked at Damien with hopeful eyes but she heard...

"Move"

"Hun?" Cass didn't understand.

"You are in my way" Damien said again as he brushed past her.

Rose followed and let out her aura and looked at her menacingly. Cass was stunned on the spot.

"Ki ki" It was unknown to Cass who let out a cuckle but the entire cafeteria burst out laughing.

Cass hurried left the cafeteria with her head bowed down. When she got out, she clenched her fists. She will definitely have her revenge.

Damien's Office

Damien continued working on his system but he couldn't help noticing how Rose kept holding her stomach and how she clenched hers teeth together. He remembered how she hesitated a lot before finally eating the cafeteria food. 'Could it be that?' Damien thought.

He immediately stood up and said to her.

"Let's go"

"Huh?" Rose was confused. It wasn't closing time yet.

Damien didn't answer her and just kept walking out. Rose grabbed her bag and followed after him.

They met Cass on the way who said, "Damien where are you going to? We have to work on with the Manager asked us to do"

"None of your business" Damien said as he looked at Rose who still held her stomach and felt anxious. He grabbed Rose's hand and went out of the company.

It happened so quickly that Rose didn't know how to react so she just went with the flow.

"Where are we going to?" Rose asked.

"Pharmacy" Damien replied but still kept walking forward. He remembered seeing a pharmacy along the road on his way to work

"Are you ok? What's wrong?" Rose stopped walking as she inspected Damein.

"I'm fine." Damien said and looked at her stomach.

Rose understood what he meant and her heart felt warm. Damien continued walking, dragging along a smiling Rose.

Rose looked at their hand that were joined together and she couldn't help her smile.
