CH 33

Damien looked at Rose who was enjoying her sleep.

He sighed again and went into the bathroom.

"A cold bath... that's what I did now"

**********

The "beautiful vixen" that Damien was talking about was currently admiring the beautiful night sky on his verandah.

"How beautiful" Coram sighed.

"Wouldn't it be nice if people were like stars, just there minding there own business" Coram said out loud to no one in particular.

"A good drink will go well with these melancholy feelings of mine"

As Coram went downstairs, he grabbed his car keys and was about to go out, when...

"Young Master Coram, where are you off to?"

This made Coram stop in his steps and turn to face the person who was asking.

It was Madam Stone, she was the caretaker of his house and she was the one who had been taking care of him since he was little, even till after his mother's death. She stood by him and cannot be compared to that man he calls "Father".

She was the only one he listened too and respects so much.

"I'm just going to grab a few drinks, Aunty. I'll be back soon." Coram said.

"Ok" Madam Stone said, but it seems to her that she was forgetting something. After getting her approval, Coram started to walk towards the front door.

"Wait..." Madam Stone finally remembered what she wanted to tell Coram.

"Make sure to call the driver to come pick you up, drunk driving is a no-no"

Coram laughed. Surely it feels so good to have someone who cares for you.

"I will, Aunty..." Coram finally got into his car and sped off. But inside his mansion, Madam Stone was not still satisfied with Coram's words of assurance. She has been caring for him since he was a little kid, she knew that he didn't even have any close friends he could trust enough to pour out his heart to or to have a couple of drinks with. She knew that as open and strong as he might seem on the outside, he was closed up to himself and hurt on the inside. She quickly dialed a number on her phone.

'She will definitely not disappoint'

Moonshine bar

Coram parked his car and threw the key to the jaw slacked valet. He was already used to this, to people staring at him agape.

Coram ignored them and entered into the bar. When the bar attendant saw he, he respectfully now.

Coram sat down on a stool just right in front of the bartender.

"Young Master" When the bartender saw him, he bowed his head. He might not be one of the top executives who was fortunate to see the boss, but one day, he forgot his wallet so he came back to the bar, that was how he was able to see all the executives including his immediate boss respectfully waiting on this man. Also, rumors has been going on around that the owner of the bar was a young man. That was how he concluded that this man was the real boss behind the curtains.

"Shhh... Keep it down" Coram put his hand on his lips and winked to the bartender. The bartender quick closed his mouth and held his heart.

'Boss, please don't look at me like that, you make a straight man turn bent(TT)' The bartender thought.

"I'll have vodka please... on the rocks" Coram ordered, he took out his phone, turned on is airplane mode and placed it down on the table beside him.

"One vodka on the rocks coming up"

Coram looked around, everywhere was bubbly and everyone was enjoying themselves, well it was Friday, years back he and Susan set this bar up on a whim, he didn't expect it to be this successful.

'Well since I handed it over to Susan to look over it, what did I expect? She did such a great job'

"Nick right?" Coram read out the name tag, earning a nod from the bartender.

"No one knows I came her today and I intend to keep it that way. Do you understand?" Coram asked with a smile.

"Of course, boss." Nick whispered and nodded his head seriously.

"If I happen to hear this new outside, you might have to make a trip to your hometown..." Coram was still smiling, even after threatening poor Nick.

"Yes, Boss" Nick whispered again, he was close to tears.

'Why did I agree with Max to take his shift?' Nick's intestines were turning green from regret.

It was then that Coram said, "Why are you whispering? tsk... not as if we are discussing something secret and of top importance"

Tears pooled in Nick's eyes, 'Bossss, we are discussing something of top importance, my job is at stake here. (〒﹏〒)'

"Don't worry, I'll make your tip worth your time and effort. Now serve me my drink"

When Nick heard this, the tears in his eyes disappeared immediately, he thought,

'Thank God for Max, he was thoughtful to ask me out of everyone if our co-workers to help him with his shift tonight. If not I might have not have gotten this lucky... hehe' Nick served Coram his drink and silently retreated away from him.

Coram took a hold of his drink and gulped it down, the coldness and bitterness hit him... he couldn't help but feel like he was just like this drink, filled with a lot of bitterness.

Cup after cup, Coram seemed to ignore all the presence around him as he drowned in his thoughts. He couldn't help but think of what his Old man said when he went over for dinner the other night.

**Flashback**

After Coram parked his car in the garage, he went up to ring the doorbell. It seemed like his "nice and caring" step mother has changed the password to the door lock.

The door was opened by the new butler that his step mother arranged years back when she replaces his mother. He didn't know how his Old man was so blind to the extent that he couldn't see that he no longer had a single person he could trust in his house anymore.

"Oh it's First Young Master" Coram could hear the sarcasm dripping from his words.

The butler, Scorfield despised this First Young Master, not only because he was brought by Madam Sheril and was on the other camp but also because of how beautiful he looks. Scorfield believes that a man cannot be as beautiful as he was.

As Scorfield was about to say that he was not welcome here, Coram beat him to it and said,

"What is it? Why are you not opening the door again? Or did that woman tell you not to let me in again? I'd have to disappoint you cause it was the Old man who called me hear himself. You see, I don't even want to be here at all... seeing your faces gives me indigestion"

Hearing this, the butler choked on his saliva and opened the door for Coram, Coram walked in confidently. The maids were still setting up the table for dinner and his Old man and Stepmother were no where in sight.

But his Step brother, who was just few years younger than himself was there sitting on the couch. It seemed to Coram that he was there deliberately to see what become of him.

"Brother, you are here. Welcome home" Charles said as he moved to hug him.

Coram avoided contact with him and said, "Home? More like welcome to a house... Don't act so chummy with me, we are not close."

From young, Coram was already familiar with this younger brother's personality. He would keep a nice mask on at all times when he was in the presence of people. If Coram had not seen what Charles did when we was young, young him would have fallen for his scheme completely.

"What are you doing? Don't you know that your brother just wanted to hug you? And how can you say this isn't your home?" Coram heard a voice from behind him.

'Just as I thought' Coram looked at his brother who has bowed his head down, he was so sure that Charles must be feeling quite good about himself right now.

Coram turned back to see his Father who was currently on a wheelchair been pushed by his Stepmother, Sheril

"Old man, I haven't seen you for a while and you seem to have aged a few more years" Coram chuckled.

His Father has become really pitiful over the past few years but he felt no pity of any sort towards him. Few weeks after his Father forced his mom out of this house and forced her to leave her only child alone in such a big house, he brought in another younger woman, whom Coram recognized as his Father's former secretary whom he once sacked to prove his innocence because his mother felt something was going on, and a little boy maybe just a few months younger than he was.

Coram was a very intelligent boy, he was able to place two and two together, young Coram knew that his father had cheated mother when she was pregnant with him! He would never have thought that his once kind and caring father would turn out like this.
