CH 37

Coram looked at his Old man...

'Unfortunately he was of no help, tsk'

Coram stood up and started to go. Rogers wheeled his chair forward and said, "So, about Charles..."

This made Coram paused in his steps...

"I've been wanting to ask you this for a long time..." he turned back to look at his Father.

"... What really is the difference between Charles and I, that you have to treat him so differently than you do me? What is it I lack that he has?"

Coram said, after he asked that question, he looked at his Old man who couldn't say a word and wondered what he even expected.

"Nevermind... I shouldn't have asked" Coram continued walking out.

"I miss you" Rogers said. Coram paused slightly but continue moving afterwards.

At the living room, Sheril and Charles were already tired of waiting, when Coram came in they both stood up and looked at him.

Even Rogers looked expectantly at Coram's back, he couldn't help it, his son's affluence and influence had already grown beyond what he could control.

"I learnt that throughout the time you were home, you took a business administrative class."

Though Charles did not know why he was asking him this, he still answered,

"Yes, I did"

Sheril had an inkling of what was going... she had already expected that it might be hard for her son to be hired as a doctor especially since he doesn't have a registered license.

"Come for the interview tomorrow, whether you do well or not, will depend on you."

"But Coram dear..." Before Sheril could complete her sentence, Coram had given her a dangerous glare, she had no other choice but to keep her mouth shut.

"And one more thing, you are not to tell anyone that you are related to me."

"But..." This time it was Charles that talked. He knew the dangers of not letting people know that he was related to the CEO, bullies and what's not.

"Keep quiet. You should even be grateful to your brother. Thank you Coram" Rogers directed his first two statement to Charles, and I he last one to Coram.

"Yes Coram dear, why don't you stay for dinner?" Sheril asked.

Coram did not bother to answer, he just walked out the door. His answer was clear, he refused to spend time with this two-faced people.

**End of Flashback**

Though Charles was successfully employed, he wasn't having such a good time at work.

As the assistant to the mental health department, he had a lot of work to do, also the people in the department are all wierd people...

Coram smiled as he took another zip of his drink. He was really drunk and wasted, he slumped on the table, he fell asleep.

Nick, the bartender who had been keeping an eye on him was worried that was his boss,he couldn't possibly leave him be like that? He was nervous as he moved around the place Coram was, constantly keeping an eye on him.

It was at this moment that Coram's phone, that he placed on the table, began to ring.

Nick, the innocent bartender was waging a battle in his mind at that moment,

'What should I do?'

'Its my boss boss's phone. Do I pick up or not?'

'It might be someone important though'

'No it's none of my business'

'I should just stick to where I was placed.'

Nick, controlled himself to keep serving people drinks and all. But the phone just kept ringing, his eyes couldn't help sneak a leak at where Coram was.

Just when he decided to go pick it up, the call was gone.

Nick sighed and said, "If it rings again, I'll pick it up"

**Grrr grr grrr**

The phone started to ring again. Nick sighed and went to the phone... he looked at the name of the person that was calling,

"Su Su?" He couldn't help but say it out loud.

Nick thought of something then he gasped, "Could I have discovered something big? The CEO who is known to be gay, probably has a girlfriend???"

"Now that I think about it again, it can't be right. I remember he also has a secretary bearing Susan or was it Sue? I can't really recall. Let me pick it up at least"

Nick pressed answer and placed the phone by his hear.

"Where are you?"

As soon as the call got connected, Susan, immediately a threw question at Coram... but unfortunately she was met with silence. She immediately noticed something was off and she said,

"Who are you? Where's the owner of this phone?"Her voice changed immediately.

"Uhmm... Miss, it's not what you think."

"I said, where are you?"

"Moonshine bar ma'am"

Susan immediately got her keys and ran out.

"Don't you dare cut this call! I'm on my way"

"What a scary lady..." Nick said as he put the phone down.

"I can still hear you, you know."

Nick immediately keeped his mouth shut and retreated far away from the phone.

Susan had just woken up when she got a call from Coram's housekeeper, Madam Stone, that Coram had gone drinking, she didn't worry at first because she thought he just went to clear his head, but it was already so late and madam Stone called to say that he hadn't come home still. Then she started dialing his number.

He wasn't picking up at first so she started to pace all round the room, then when the call was connected, it was strange cause he always spoke first.

She was finally reassured when Nick said the address he was at, because that was their place.

Susan got to the bar and saw Coram, who placed his head in the counter, she heaved a sigh of relief since he was saved, then she looked around,

"You must be the one that picked up his call?"

"Why didn't you call me as soon as he got here?!"

"Do you know how dangerous it is for him to be alone!" Susan questioned Nick, Perhaps it was because of how worried she was that she couldn't help chastise Nick,

With how stern she looked and with the tone of her voice, Nick could not bring himself to say a word.

"I...I..."

When Susan observed how nervous and pitiful Nick was, when it wasn't even his fault, she couldn't help but say, "I'm sorry. I'm it mad at you, I'm mad at myself"

"Boss told me not to let anyone..."

"Thank you" Susan interrupted him and vegan moving towards Coram. Nick felt a blush running up his cheek,

'Since the CEO secretary can take the place of the CEO, did I just get a "thank you" from the CEO?' Nick thought, a goofy smile spread on his face.

"Coram, Coram" Susan nugded Coram awake.

When Coram opened his eyes, a beautiful woman wearing glasses, dressed in suit and trousers was standing beside him, she could see the worry in her eyes.

'When last did someone ever looked at me like that?' Coram thought as he laughed depreciatively.

Susan was stunned by his sudden laughter, so she shaked him even more,

"Coram, are you alright?"

Susan stared at his face. When she was just a little girl, she met Coram, at first she thought he was a girl.

**Flashback**

"Pretty... Who are you? You are so beautiful... Can you be my friend?"

Little Coram who was just mistook for a girl was angry so he responded to her by pushing her away and running away. Her hand got hurt from that fall, Little Coram happened to turn back and see it, then he took her to his mom to get her hand treated.

When his mom was treating her, she looked at Little Coram who was silently all through,

"Coram" She said.

Little Coram looked up, his eyes were already red...

"It's not good to push someone especially girls, what are you supposed to say?"

So Little Coram looked at her and said, "I'm sorry"

"You are a boy?" Susan was really shocked by the revelation, she couldn't believe that the person she was staring at was a guy.

"If you are sorry, then can we be friends? I'm Susan" Susan stretched out her injured hand to him. She really wanted a beautiful friend like him.

Little Coram looked at it and didn't reach for it. Susan was sad, she didn't know why he didn't want to be her friend so she started crying.

Little Coram was startled, he looked at his mom for help, but she just shrugged off her shoulder like, it's in his hands, he looked at the crying girl and remembered how his mom used to pet him.

So he hugged and patted her back.

"I'll be responsible for you as from now on don't worry" Little Coram, who didn't know the implication of his words, said.

"Then will you be my friend? My mom said that if a boy wants to be responsible then he must marry the girl, are you going to marry me?"

Coram's mom who was standing by the side almost choked on her saliva. 'Which kind of mother will say that to her little girl?'
