"Surprise." He chuckled lightly before looking into her eyes.
"Tell me, Amiryah, were you surprised?"
Her mind raced frantically, putting all the pieces together. After she had established a timeline, things began to make sense to her somewhat. In the beginning, every time her mother started her off on training, she would stop her after a little while, and she would go to her room crying. Why had she never remembered that before? No, she knew why. It was because that didn't matter to her. She had no way of knowing why her mother was crying. She had only known that she had been in pain, and yet, her mother was the one who cried in the end.
