Promise

"Happy?" the Priestess chortled.

Zera felt a little disappointed that Avalon still failed to show up. But she wasn't about to give up. They were so close.

Glancing at the unconscious forms inside the bubbles, Zera clenched her hands into fists. She stepped forward with her heart on her sleeve.

"What would it take for you to stop all this madness? Name your price."

Smiling, the Priestess held Zera's gaze. She snapped her fingers, releasing Beatrix's mother. She dropped to the ground like a rag doll.

"No! Mom!" Beatrix lashed out, but the others held her back.

"What are you doing?!" Zera demanded.

But instead of giving her a response, the Priestess snapped her fingers again.

The same thing that happened to Selene was done to Beatrix. She was pushed out of the barrier.

Zera watched her friend ignoring her scratches and tending to her mother, waking her up. The other players with them tried to help.
