Bloom Like Flowers

Hena had a rather busy day. After getting mobbed by thugs when she came out of the palace, she behaved and followed the vampire prince's orders and stayed within the castle's boundaries for several days.

Feeling a bit new to the environment, she had decided to go to the garden where she could take a breath of fresh air. For some reason, staying beautiful flowers growing in the palace made her think of her situation. It didn't matter how suffocating staying inside the palace was for her, she only had to become the flowers in their beautiful garden and wait for the right time to bloom.

"Are you thinking of the North Kingdom, milady?" asked Claire, her loyal raven-haired maidservant. She stood next to her with her head slightly bowed down.

"There was no moment of me staying here that I'm not thinking of my kingdom," she replied staring at a far distance. "But I must bide my time to attack and make sure that I'll take my kingdom back."

"You will be a great ruler, milady," Claire responded. "The North Kingdom is lucky to have someone like you."

Exhaling deeply, Hena said. "I'm not sure about that, Claire."

The maidservant didn't respond anymore. Instead, Hena took this time to take a few steps closer towards the shrubs. The hibiscus flowers appeared to be leaning themselves in the direction of the sun.

The hibiscus flower reminded her of her glowing pink hair color. The hair color that her Majesty, the previous queen of the North Kingdom, has given to her. While her father has given her hazel-colored eyes.

Instead of feeling depressed about her situation, she chose to be more hopeful. The sun will definitely rise soon for her and she only needed to wait.

Taking a few steps closer, she momentarily smiled seeing birds chirping around. The beautiful scenery calmed her heart. The feeling of neutralness and calmness invaded all of her senses.

Hena had already realized that no one was by her side anymore. Claire appeared not to have followed her. She was about to call her name and turn around but noticed footsteps coming in her direction.

Turning her head around, she met that familiar red eyes that enchanted her whole being. He appeared to have come out of the shower as it was probably almost five in the afternoon.

"What brings you here?"

"This is my kingdom, am I not allowed to be here?"

"You know I didn't mean that, Prince Luka," Hena responded.

"I know that too well, my wife," he playfully responded with a smirk plastered on his face.

There was a moment of silence that surrounded them. Hena took this chance and looked around the garden. Her maidservant, Claire had already disappeared. And so did the remaining palace guards that served her.

"You were busy all day," commented Hena not knowing what else to say. "Paperworks are tough to work."

"I'm sure that you know it too well, future Queen of the North Kingdom,"

Hena snorted. "I'm not the future Queen of the north kingdom now, I'm just a powerless vampire prince's wife."

Luka turned in her direction and grabbed several strands of her hair, smelling it. He looked at her in the eye with a neutral smile.

"You're not entirely powerless, my future queen." He responded with a sly smirk. "But before you produce an heir and become one, I need to fully enjoy our relationship before it takes a sharp turn."

"You seem to prefer playing and keeping things light," remarked Hena as she instinctively took a step back. "I can sense the current queen experiencing a severe headache raising you."

"I take things according to my own pace and I'm not the queen's puppet," He firmly replied. "And it's not fun to be serious all the time."

Hena had always been organized and moved by the book. She always hated anyone who appeared to treat everything as a playground. And it seemed that this man who claimed to be her wife was a great example of being one.

"You're always serious and frowning," Luka remarked, staring into his wife's hazel eyes. "I bet it wasn't easy for you as well as the future ruler of your kingdom."

"You're right. I've always been strict to myself, and cared a lot about my position and how my people see me." Hena said as her stare fixed on the birds flying around the garden. "I have never been this free. I never had the time to observe my surroundings like this. All my life, I have spent learning how to become even more knowledgeable and strong."

"You have been hard on yourself all this time. You might want to learn one or two things from me."

Slightly frowning, she said, "Don't make me laugh."

"Have more of an open mind. There are certain things that will happen in the future that no one knows."

Hena turned her head and fixed her gaze on the man standing right next to her. She had never expected him to empathize to her about what she felt. Luka suddenly had a change of image in her eyes and it was already becoming the start of something.

"I wanted to become a great ruler, but I ended up running away from them."

"The question is, are you really running away?" He said, "If you go back to the North Kingdom now, you're just risking everyone's lives. You know it too well, my wife."

With a sigh, Hena said. "I have never felt this powerless, I suppose."

The prince stood in front of her, blocking her sense of sight. All her eyes saw was the white surcoat the prince had worn. She raised her head and met gazes with his enchanting crimson eyes.

"Do you really want to know how it feels to be extremely powerless…" Luka said with his deep baritone voice, teasing her. "Powerless in bed?"

Hena's face flushed out of embarrassment as she tried to avert her gaze away from the devilishly handsome man in front of her. He never failed to make her feel shy when they talk about doing it.

Instead of backing down, Luka leaned in closer and made her look at him in the eye. For a moment, he dropped his gaze on her lips and then immediately went back to her beautiful eyes.

"Hena."

His voice was deep. No one had ever dared to call out her name. She felt adrenaline rushing through her senses and froze in that exact spot.

"Don't you want to be powerless in bed the day we consummate our marriage?"
