"HOW DARE YOU!
I WON'T STAND FOR THIS!"
Alexiel threw his fit down on the nearest table creating a resounding *BANG*.
Dr. Grace stood opposite with a coquettish grin on her face.
"Well by all means little Blood Prince, take a seat. Hehehe, I won't take offense."
The White Queen was amused by his reaction.
"If memory serves right, you didn't react like this when it came to your other siblings? Who we took in when they were only a few years older than Star is now.
Wouldn't it be better for her growth if she entered the institute earlier? There will be many students her own age that understand what she's going through!"
Alexiel was Fuming!
Cassandra had invited a shark into their already muddied waters! She wanted to poach the last of his siblings that were at home.
"Why would you know or even care about how I reacted with my other siblings? What are you suggesting?"
Dr. Grace found a rolling stool and decided to seat herself there before answering Alexiel's inquiries.
"I guess you don't know the happenings of your whole family, huh?
I've become the secondary dean of our Institute of the Gifted. The same school several of your brothers attend year round hehe.
Your father always makes such kind donations every year to help keep our school running.
Star and Angel wouldn't really be alone, they have so many siblings waiting for them there.
Oh! Oh, maybe…? it's actually you, young prince that will suffer the most being away from all your siblings?
Hehehe, what a kind older brother! If that was what you're worried about we can also arrange for your transfer as well!
There, doesn't that solve everything?
You get to leave this ancient poor state and come to a much more prosperous northern state!
Doesn't that sound more appealing?"
What the hell!!
This is not going to fly with the vampires! This is not okay! Is this all some elaborate plot? The institute has never held this level of interest in the family.
Now simply calling a favor in and a secondary dean shows up at our door trying to recruit the rest of us?
"What is your real aim?
You started off saying you were very happy with the level of development Angelica has achieved with her abilliy at her age. You said that Star has a very powerful psychic gift and should be taken in to train properly. And now you're trying to add me on as if I'm a secondary thought.
But I see right through you! I won't be playing into your hand!
You haven't even mentioned my fathers condition once and have been slowly winding us around your fingers this entire time!
Spit it out! What is your real purpose here! Clearly it was a mistake for Cassandra to have invited an ungrateful dog into our house!
Are you working with the bastards that did this to my father?"
The more Alexiel thought things through the more possibilities popped into his mind! Of course they were all unfounded and unsubstantial as even he hardly knew anything that was going on behind the scenes, but the imagination of a 14 year old boy who watches the news and does a lot of reading can conjure many horrors from the simplest of information!
Seeing Alexiel working himself up definitely startled Tristan that still had flashbacks of being thrown out of their last fusion. He hadn't had a chance to really talk to Alexiel about that situation but it had weighed heavy on his mind along with his own issues.
Fearing the worst outcome Tristan stepped forward and placed his hand on Alexiels shoulders. He didn't say anything but he glared very menacingly at Dr. Grace.
Dr. Grace didn't miss a beat and couldn't help laughing at the funny image these children were giving off. Tough? in front of her? someone who has seen war, death, betrayal!
These children knew nothing! thankfully she wasn't actually here to start a conflict she just figured she would try her hand to rope in a few more powerful mutants into her institute.
"Goodness me, looks like I've really stepped on a landmine this time! Hehe, don't worry! I'm not here to cause your family any further complications.
But I would like to announce that the few siblings you have attending our academy actually have developed astonishingly! We've even noticed an increase in their power over the years.
Something that is normal for mutant children as they grow into maturity, but they also couldn't help letting spill a few of the astonishing affects your blood has brought them when it came to their growth!
Of course I can't let an ability with such a wide range of use be left only for the vampires to hog up! I mean it's very kind of you to provide such a protein packed meal for them, but we at the institute would love to study the depth and viability of your blood!
Imagine how many more lives you could save outside of the few low end clinics you've been secretly providing to over the years."
The White Queen was very pleased with herself. Her eyes sparkled literally at the idea of getting her hands on something new to research! An ability that could be synthesized into a universal potion?
The possibilities were endless, and even if she only uncovered a fraction of its uses in her lifetime, it would be enough to fill entire book cases with notes and experiments! She wanted this little whale in front of her so bad!
The idea of laying her hands on him to get a few samples was making her lower parts grow tighter just from the possibilities! She almost began to drool a little in front of everyone!
The little thought bubble filled with her fantasies must have popped just as swiftly as it came as she swiftly moved to wipe the side of her lips before she really did lose her composure and give everyone something unsightly to behold!
"This situation with your father, I can assure you, has absolutely nothing to do with us! Don't you know we fight on the side of Justice? My title as the White Queen isn't just for show, and our institute has an upstanding stellar reputation!"
She looked past Alexiel glancing at Tristan, then turned to look in the direction of Euria who had been pretty silent this whole time.
It was hard to know what she was thinking. There seemed to be a little self blame hidden among the many emotions that kept crossing her face.
"You can even bring your friend along on scholarship, and… We can work on breaking the seal on your mothers abilities.
Really what I'm offering you, and your family, is a chance to relocate and join our faction up north. You will get to grow up among your fellow mutant peers and live together as a family.
Don't be so quick to decline my offer! A few of our informants around the city have been paying close attention to all of you in the last year and I have to say you guys really do well to keep your heads down and not attract too much attention.
Unfortunately for you, when things seem too good to be true, its more likely to pique even more people's interest. I'm not afraid to say that many factions have taken notice of your family in particular.
Your fathers ability to sire so many mutant children is a blessing to our people! helping pave the way of the Overmen! The struggles of the humans are nothing more than the Lastman's gripe with the inevitability of their own antiquated existence!
We know that your business with the vampires has been lucrative over the years, but we also know that it has been strictly a business transaction between your two parties?
We are willing to buy you out from the vampires and have no problem with you continuing your business channels.
We would just ask you to realign your priorities with ours!"
Hearing her words Alexiels amber skin actually took on a very pale hue!
This was his fear! This was the reason they kept their heads low and moved through the city like everyone else! He never wanted to bring trouble to his family but it seems like trouble will come knocking regardless of his feelings!
He couldn't help wondering about his siblings that were under such a womens care! Had they already been doing experiments on them all this time? Was his family in danger from all sides? And the mention of his mothers ability!? She should know to ask the parties involved their thoughts before offering benefits!
Although shaken, Alexiel balled his fist up in rage! He spat out his next words.
"These are my people! I won't abandon them for your experiments! Don't comfort me and tell me I won't be strapped up in some lab being isolated from the world for extended periods of time!
I wouldn't believe your promises anyway! Contrary to your ego, I don't know you and I sure as hell don't want to trust you!
I've already taken the steps to deepen my relationship with the vampires so be assured you've arrived at our doorstep a moment too late! How unfortunate for you!
It seems we've only called you here to waste both of our time as I'm not sure I feel safe with you prodding my father now that you've revealed such deep intentions!
How do I know you haven't already milked him of his seed and are reeling to get back to your lab as soon as possible to begin growing your test tube babies!?"
Everyone was blown away by Alexiels claims. This was a thought that laid at the furthest reeses of their mind! Something obscure even after having her reveal so much! Why was it something that a 14 year old boy would toss out offhandedly as if it was obvious?
But nevertheless once everyone heard this the gears in their own minds started turning and many of them grew worried.
Euria was worried about the other children just as Alexiel had been, now with this new information the ideas running through her mind were starting to build a headache from all angles.
Dr. Grace actually wasn't offended in the least by his proclamations, she still just smiled devilishly and wiped the imaginary dust from her hands.
"Hmmm, well, it seems you're not an easy child to beguile. I wonder what kind of training your father has put you through over the years? It's odd seeing a lowly rank 2 mutant gifted with his seed! His ability to reproduce offspring with such a variety of gifts is truly dazzling to a researcher like me!
Can you blame me for being so forthcoming about our desire to bring you to our side? But it seems you're right, We've missed our window of opportunity.
It's fine if you don't trust me now, but rest assured our people will be in touch in the coming days and we will open extensive rounds of dialog to insure that such a hidden gem doesn't go to waste in the undercity of such a pitiful state."
She gestured at the surrounding cave structures to emphasize her point.
Alexiel had nothing further to say and just scowled at Dr. Grace as she made her exist, stating she would be back to check on the patients after everyones had a chance to cool down a bit.
