A Lapse In Memory

She was definitely dead this time, Dahlia concluded as she was in the palace filled with vampires that would drain her dead before she could even blink. It had been easier the last time, in the sense that there was the forest she could run into.

But not here, where could she even hide? Not to mention that she was running out of time. Her eyes widened at the sight of the vampire coming at her - and more were to come as soon as they scented her blood.

What had Romulus been thinking about adding her to this competition because it was now obvious that he wanted her dead. How could he not have foreseen this happening?

The vampire's feral snarl woke Dahlia from her reverie. Once hooked on the scent of her blood, there was almost no difference between a full-fledged vampire and a feral because they both reacted on instinct - the instinct to hunt and survive. Well, except for the fact that vampires were less disgusting and more charming than the Ferals in that state.
