I had a love-hate relationship with makeup.
I loved the different looks created with the aid of makeup and the many classes of makeup; how it could be used in ordinary day-to-day looks, or used on a larger scale to create special effects in movies and television shows.
Makeup artists always amazed with their creativity and how they could completely transform a person's face to match the aesthetic they were going for.
However, as much as I loved the looks and special effects, I completely hated the process.
Sitting down for minutes which could edge into hours depending on what kind of effect or look was being developed on your face, while someone painted your face never appealed to me, not even for a second.
The first time I tried on makeup was at my secondary graduation ceremony when I was trying to transition from my somewhat tomboyish phase into a more feminine phase.
