"Fine, I won't say it. You knew exactly what I wanted to say anyway," He winked.
"Buzz off!"
"No!" He stuck out his tongue at me the way a recalcitrant toddler would.
"Is the soup ready yet? Or have I distracted you enough that it burned without your knowledge?" He asked an innocent, annoying smile etched on his face.
"You have no faith in my abilities at all. I don't blame you though. I've added the 'uziza' and 'okazi' leaves. It will be done in a few minutes," I said proudly, flipping my waist-length box braids which were tied up in a ponytail.
That little motion that was purely innocent to me must have incited wayward thoughts in Tobi's mind because his eyes visibly darkened and he was quiet for once in his life.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked, eyeing the pot of soup on the fire as I counted down the minutes till the soup would be ready and then I could begin the preparation of the stew.
