He threw his head back and laughed heartily.
Confusion flooded my mind as I looked from him to my mom and back to him again.
I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was so hysterical and humorous to elicit such guffaw from him.
He would look at my mom for a moment and look back down at his thighs, only to begin his laughter anew, slapping his thighs at intervals.
My mom was dumbfounded.
Clearly, she hadn't expected such a response from him.
I don't think she was as bewildered as I was at the whole situation.
After what seemed like hours, his laughter died down to chuckles which he tried to hold back with his palms against his mouth.
"Ugobueze, what about what I said is so funny to you? Ehn? I said you should get out of my house and instead of you leaving immediately, you start laughing? Who are you trying to make a fool out of?" My mom asked sternly, her face a red mask of fury and befuddlement.
