Friends of my boyfriend are my bros

I met Reuben's friends officially a week after we had begun dating and it was...something else. 

I had seen them before; hanging out with Reuben in the courtyard or just passing by them in the halls on my way out but I had never interacted with them fully except for the time I was fishing for information about Reuben. 

I didn't even know their names or where they were from.

They were simply Reuben's friends and also his coursemates to me. 

It was almost comical to me, the way I hadn't ever noticed either them or Reuben before but after one meeting, I started seeing them every day. 

Listening to them calling out Reuben's name outside or laughing together whereas before I had ever known Reuben, I never observed them or heard his name around the lodge. 

It was as if my mind opened up its awareness of him and his friends after they imprinted on my memory.
