Lucas lies down and relaxes, he hugs the pillow and finds himself thinking. He should have known that the teacher would treat him like this. He did read the novel, obviously, he knew that Lucas's life was terrible. The only person that actually cared for him was Lilith. And she was not even a human. 'Humans in this world are pretty horrible, no wonder Isaac and Lilith turned their backs on them'
However, the memory of the kind security guard came to him. This was the first nice interaction with a human being ever since Lucas awakened his dark affinities. It was still hard for him to believe that there's actually a kind person in this world. Even though the novel told the readers that there are some good and kind people, Lucas's tragic memories overshadowed that. 'Well, I suppose something is very wrong with that guard.'
He sits again and begins to meditate. Joy took hold of him ss holy energy slowly cleanses his negative emotions. However, the ecstasy did not take long. As he began hearing the man's voice inside his head. 'Look at yourself, weak and pathetic. Let me help you, expand your mind. To bury your weakness, and free you from all the suffering!'
"W-who is this?"
'We are in this together. Now that our paths aligned, you will have to use my body well!'
"Lucas... Is that you?"
However, no one answered him. He downcast his gaze, stares at the floor. He is trying to hold his tears as the pent-up emotions from Lucas's past life take him over. . He was angry at teachers' incompetence. He hates the students, for mistreating him. He hates his family, for making him weak and useless.
'Haha. With all my negative emotions… Lilith will never become obsessed with me anymore! I am safe.' he thinks that, however, his chin was trembling and his expression was gloomy.
He was wondering, how did original Lucas manage to stay so pure? How did he feel no hatred for everyone? It was just a second day that Dorian got transmigrated into Lucas's body, and he was already at his limit.
'I suppose, I am a weak-willed person. Am I right, Lucas?'
In the novel, Lucas managed to stay pure of malice. That is what attracted Lilith's attention. 'I mean, Lilith would stop bullies from venting their anger on me… But, I would rather stay away from her… She is way too dangerous.'
In the original novel, after Lilith falls for Lucas she turns into a yandere. At one point, she wanted to get intimate with Lucas, however, he wanted his first to be romantic. Lilith decided not to wait. The scariest part is that she chained Lucas up in the school's bathroom and took his virginity. Even though they started dating and became lovers after that, Lucas was still sad that his virginity was taken away in such an unromantic way. 'I really prefer if that wouldn't happen to me.' Even the thought of that part in the novel gives Lucas shivers. It's almost 9 am but Lucas is very tired and falls asleep.
When Lucas woke up, he realized that he still needs his magic level and talent checked. It was illegal to hide one's powers from the government. In the worst-case scenario, Lucas might end up imprisoned. Having magical abilities is the same as having a weapon. That's the reason, the government must register a person's level and talent.
Luckily, the Elemental kingdom's government does not give away any information about its residents to the Sundom kingdom. After getting his levels checked, he will be able to get some work as an adventurer or a hunter.
"Well, in the novel this was Lucas's first steps out of poverty. So I might as well do the same."
Lucas went to take a shower and cleaned himself up. He doesn't want to be seen as some homeless child when he walks into the town's hall. He carefully cut his overgrown golden hair with a pair of scissors and spent half an hour just standing in the shower and washing the dirt off his petite body. When he finished, Lucas could barely recognize himself in the mirror. He posed a few times and made some silly facial expressions.
"Wow, I look pretty good. Who would have thought!~"
He checked the hours on the computer. It was almost 5 pm so he had to rush. The Townhall is only open till 6 pm. He searched up the way to the town's hall. He got himself dressed in the cleanest-looking clothes that he had. A red shirt and a little worn black leather jacket. 'Well, better than nothing!'
Lucas goes outside and carefully locks the doors. He still had 2 bronze coins. He decided to use one and take a bus. He thinks carefully and decides that it's the only option to be there in time. Or else he might be late and have to wait till Monday. 'So expensive…'. He stands at the bus stop for 5 minutes. Then the bus arrives. He looks inside and slowly walks in. He gives a bronze coin to a driver in exchange for two tickets. He finds himself an empty seat near the window and enjoys the scenery.
Even in his past life he never took the bus as it was just an unnecessary expense for him. He'd rather use the leftover money for alcohol. In this life, he chooses to become a better person. Person? No. He wants to be just like Isaac. He wants to be a god. A smile shows up on Lucas's face. The tragic life he has right now, won't last forever.
"Holy Bermuda's street" Lucas hears a robotic voice.
'That's my queue.' The bus stops and Lucas immediately rush to the exit. He walks onto the sidewalk and breathes in the fresh air. He walks towards a big old fashioned building. From the memories of a novel, Lucas found out that the building was made from low-quality magic stones. Their purpose was to create a barrier over the territory in case of a monsters outbreak or a terrorist attack. 'So this is a safe zone for citizens to evacuate. I doubt it helped when the original Lucas went insane and started an apocalypse.'
He walks through the entrance and goes straight to the reception desk. However, he noticed it was empty. 'Was I late?'. Lucas checks and looks at the clock on the wall. 5:26 pm. 'They should still be working at this hour.'
The receptionist comes to him from behind and puts a hand on his shoulder.
"Hello? Kid, are you lost?"
Startled Lucas jumps. He looks at the receptionist and inhales a deep breath.
"Oh, you scared me, miss!" Seriously, who sneaks up like that on a kid?'
"Hehe!~ My name is Liza. Anyways, what can I do for you? Is your mother working here?"
Lucas looks at her with intrigued eyes and scratches his chin. 'This is not the same receptionist that inspected MC's levels.'
The receptionist was in her early twenties. She has beautiful golden hair that matches her blue as the ocean eyes. Her skirt was a bit too short for her long legs and the breasts were just the perfect size. Her gentle smile warmed Lucas's heart. 'Why the hell I am just twelve years old! AH, What a tragedy!' Lucas screamed internally.
"N-no. I am here to get my magical level and talents checked. Is that okay? Or am I late?"
"N-no. But where are your parents? And how old are you kid?" The receptionist couldn't believe this tiny kid was here to get his magic checked. Lucas's petite figure looked as if he was ten years old. And usually, when a talented child awakens his magical powers. Parents are the first ones to rush to the town hall.
"I have no parents. And I just turned twelve." Lucas smiles as he looks at the receptionist. Who gets surprised and fixes her hair. She couldn't believe that this boy was over ten years old. She looks at Lucas one more time and goes behind her desk. She takes out a registration form and puts it on the desk. She picks up a red pen and starts playing with it in her fingers.
"Alright. So, can you tell me your name, little boy?"
"Lucas. Lucas Van Ruxstarz."
