And now here you are, shivering in the back of this rickety bucket, buried deep in layer after layer of fur-lined outdoor gear, on your way to a meeting that you know nothing about. Looking ahead, you can see that conditions in the high peaks appear pretty awful. Whatever is in store for you, if it involves climbing above the snow line, this will get very unpleasant indeed. It's already been a pain in the ass to buy all this equipment, hire a pilot, and get as far as you have. Most pilots would refuse to fly this high, where the air is dizzyingly thin and the altitude puts a massive strain on the engine. Ruby shakes, rattles, and screams like she's at the moment of orgasm—or of falling apart completely.
