Suited within your Fi-01 Viking unit, you run a quick check of your rifle and your Gladius knife, making sure that they are in combat-ready condition before you take a count of how much extra ammunition you're carrying on your suit. Satisfied, you turn on your HUD to check your patrol route, which takes place over a wide stretch covering the north-eastern shoreline of Lemuria. It's mostly woodlands and hilly ground with a lot of coves near the beach, which makes it a perfect hiding place for any sort of illegal activity, for example piracy. Hence the need to constantly patrol this region to keep an eye out for whatever signs these activities leave behind.

As you study the route, a tiny beep chimes in your ears and Balogh's face appears on the bottom left corner of your HUD. "You done with your inspection, kid?" he asks, and you nod, glancing at his face. There's an intense battle-weariness noticeable on him, even if there haven't been any real skirmishes during your time here, giving you a sense of how long he's been fighting for, and you wonder briefly if you'll look the same as he does if you survive long enough to reach his age.

"All right, we've got our ride all set up and ready to go. Meet you and the rest of the kids later in the transport bay," he says gruffly before his face winks out. Given that you're patrolling a vast area, you're not expected to walk throughout it; even in your Magikiras suits, your walking speed isn't significantly increased, and you don't actually have jet packs built into the suits either, since the current technology doesn't support miniaturized jets yet. So you're given the next best thing: the Armadillo personnel carrier.

As you enter the transport bay, the Armadillo stands before you. The best (and only) way to describe it is that it's a tank on eight massive wheels. Bulky and tough, you think to yourself idly. The rest of your team is already here waiting for you, so you quickly sprint up to the Armadillo and climb in. The interior is designed to fit up to six Magikiras suits comfortably; you find a nice spot to sit down as the rest of your team climbs in after you. Balogh walks over to the driver's cabin and takes control of the vehicle, starting the engine.

It rumbles to life with a satisfying roar, and he looks at the three of you. "Strap yourselves in, kids," he says before looking in front. "We're going to have clear blue skies and lots of nothing to do, so get your HUD games up and practice your Minesweeper or Sudoku." The Armadillo rumbles out of the transport bay as you start your patrol.

As Balogh predicted, the drive is a boring and uneventful one.
