You hit the barrier and rebound from it. The harder you hit it, the further back you are thrown. You move for the wall behind you. You hit the wall and bounce back from it. You try jumping up and pounding the ceiling. It pushes you back. "I believe we are trapped for the moment." You say.
"Then what can we do?" He asks. "Once daylight is gone, you will not be invulnerable."
You nod. "If they need me to open this temple, they will come for us and move us once the sun is down." You sit down beside him and whisper in his ear. "We will have three nights, Talandor, between sunset and midnight. And if they make a single mistake during daylight, we will take the advantage. We will find a way to escape."
He nods. "And Kanow is still free." He whispers back. "He'll be following."
"Let us hope our little friend is resourceful," You say.
"He'll find a way." He tells you. "He has never failed me."
You stare at him. He is wounded and tired. His face is pale, and you doubt he can travel for long. "Rest. You'll need all of your strength for the journey ahead. I'll keep an eye on our priestly captor."
He nods and rests his head against your shoulder. It isn't long before he is asleep.
Your day is long and boring. When night fall comes, you can feel it. The priest and a contingency of cultists who hadn't been here earlier in the day get ready to remove you from your cell. You notice they are holding children with knives to their throats as a guarantee that you will behave.
