Me and my friend Zora walk out of school, talking about anime. She was telling me about "A Promised Neverland" and how I should watch it. As we walked down the street, on our way to Starbucks (Life happens, Coffee helps) someone grabbed my arm and pulled me into a alleyway.
I yelped and was thrown to the ground. I quickly scrambled up to face my attacker, getting into a defensive stance. Zora punched them in the back of their head and came up to me. "Are you alright Ivy?" Before I could answer, I saw the attacker stand up with a gun. They aimed it at Zora. For me everything seemed to go in slow motion. They slowly pulled the trigger and I got in front of Zora. Time went back to normal. Suddenly I felt a burning pain go through me. I collapsed into Zora's arms feeling weak. The attacker ran out of the alley.
Zora was freaking out. She fumbled with her bag, trying to pull out her phone to call 911. I applied pressure to the wound, hissing in pain. "I-Ivy, everything is g-going to be ok, the ambulance is going to be h-here soon" she was shaking "just stay awake and hang in there". The moment she said that my vision started to blur. I could feel myself getting colder and weaker by the second.
"S-s-sorry..." I said as my breathing went shallow and my eyes began to close. "IVY!" Zora said. I could faintly hear sirens in the distance as the world collapsed in on itself and faded to darkness.
I was surrounded by darkness. Am I dead? No I can't be . . . I'm still in pain. And If I'm dead, how will I watch anime? I felt like someone was watching me. No, not someone, something. "Who's there! Show yourself!" Whoever or whatever it was chuckled and spoke at last. It's voice dripped like honey "Who I am is not important, and for a mere mortal to see my true form, let's just say that it would not end well for them...".
"All that you need to know is that I'm going to give you a gift. It will allow you to travel to different dimensions and gain power that is related to that dimension." It continued. "Different dimensions? Wait does . . . does anime each have their own dimension?" I asked, hopeful. "Yes, young one, they do" It chuckled again "Have fun with your new power".
The next thing that I thought of was one of my favorite animes "Demon Slayer". I felt a tug in backwards and the next thing I knew, I was in the middle of a forest.
