The Detective

"Guide me to the crime scene!" Sara quickly ordered the soldiers who quickly answered guiding her towards the Police headquarters, more concretely, toward the head's office.

"Wait here a moment" Before entering, Sara ordered her men to wait still, not wanting to corrupt the scene with so many people, however, she stopped Allen, signaling for him to follow her.

In this year working together, Allen had not only shown a great talent for the sword, but also a great mind and quick thinking. Sara knew how Allen preferred physical work like training and missions, but she was well aware of how gifted he was on planning and calculating.

So Sara thought that Allen could help in giving her another perspective, seeing things unfounded by her.

Entering the room, Allen and Sara saw the dead body of Isamu laying head down very near the entrance. Blood started from his back and painted all his body, creating a pool under him, making it very clear to have died from an attack on his back.

"Who is the culprit?" Sara asked.

"It hadn't been found yet" One soldier stated "There were no witnesses, only having discovered the body after listening his shout, finding it alone. However, but we are currently following some tracks, it won't be long before the culprit is found."

On his side, Allen was looking around the room which except for the corpse, seemed quite neat, nothing having been touched. Finally looking at the corpse.

"Something to say Allen?" Sara asked, knowing Allen's face when he was thinking.

"Not much" Allen answered "For what I see it was a quick and prepared movement that clearly had Isamu's assassination as its objective, seeing how untouched the room is."

Allen approached the corpse "Can I?"

Sara nodded giving permission, Allen laying on the ground as he closely inspected the body "It's a clean stab directly to the heart from his back, leaving no way to any resistance."

"This wide and curvature..." Allen mumbled "Seeing the wound, it clearly was made of a katana." Allen turned toward one of the police officers "Can I borrow your weapon?"

The officer made a strange face at Allen sudden demand but with Sara nod, he quickly gave it to Allen who unsheathed it with his right hand while positioning over the corpse.

Allen made a stance as if stabbing the corpse and frowned "As I thought..." Allen changed the sword to his left hand before returning it to the officer. "The cut is the same, the weapon of the crime is clearly one of the reglementary ones used by the Police."

"So the culprit is within the Police?" Sara mumbled. Allen had been recognized as a blacksmith so his words were credible.

"It might..."

"We have found the culprit!" Interrupting their thoughts, a new Police officer entered the room and announced.

"Bring me to him" Sara requested "Keep guarding the office" Sara ordered before following the office and leaving following the new officer.

Reaching the Police's cells, Sara and Allen were guided towards one of them where a man stood inside that was talking with a young boy about Allen's age outside.

The young man had messy black hair and an average build and smiled to alcohol, while the boy has short in height and had burgundy hair with dark highlights.

"He is Ryuuji, one of the low-ranking officers at the Police. We found blood traces towards his house. We found him while trying to clean his blood-stained clothes." The officer explained.

"I'm innocent!" Ryuuji shouted.

"How could you dare to lie in front of Lady Kujou" The officer shouted angrily "We found the weapon of the crime in your possession, is useless to negate it." He said showing a blood stained katana, the usually used by the Police.

"You were right, Allen" Sara stated seeing the katana "It was one of the Police."

Allen took the katana and analyzed "This is clearly the weapon, but..."

"He is innocent!" The burgundy-haired boy finally broke up his silent, quickly stating.

"And you are?" Allen asked curious, surprised why a boy of his age was in this scene.

"Who I am?" The boy hummed "I am Shikanoin Heizou! The young genius and the best detective of Inazuma! It doesn't matter how much filth and lies are in place, I will always uncover the truth behind, finding the true culprit!"

"Heizou!" The other officer admonished him, pushing Heizou's head down into a bow "Sorry, Lady Kujou. He is new at the Police. Despite his age, he has great insight and intelligence, having a great future. He was one of the first to find the body and the one that followed the trace towards the culprit."

"Ryuuji is not the culprit! He is innocent!" Heizou shouted, escaping from the officer's hands.

"Can you explain it?" Sara signaled the office to stop, turning towards Heizou.

"This case is very peculiar." Heizou stated "It's true that the weapon of the crime was found in his house, but why he brought it there?"

"The sword is clearly from the Police, he might try to hide its origin." Allen stated, his eyes showing that he was merely proving Heizou.

"Yes!" Heizou stated "But it's not like it's his personal one, we can't find who is the owner of it. Plus, why hid it in his house? Clearly framing himself doing it. It will be far better to leave it at the scene if that was the case."

"He might have been nervous and didn't think about it" Allen continued.

"It could explain it, but it doesn't explain the scene of the crime. The attack was to quick and clean, even the moment was perfect to have the lease amount of people around. That calculative attack can't finish like this. All the proofs against Ryuuji are too easy, clearly showing a path, a fake path! Most probably someone is framing him."

Listening him, Sara made a thoughtful face "What do you think Allen?"

"I think he is right." Allen nodded "All seems prepared. Also, with his position, Isamu was attacked at his back when he was leaving the room..."

"Exactly!" Heizou pointed out "The culprit must be someone close to him, someone, who he trusted enough to leave him behind over his office! So rather than a low ranked like Ryuuji, it should be someone of higher rank."

"It's becoming a bigger problem" Mumbled Sara.

"There's too little evidence, but I'm sure to find the true answer so..." Heizou bowed to Sara "Let me be in charge of the investigation!"

"It's not very professional to let someone so young and inexpert in charge" Sara reasoned "But I will offer my cooperation and let you investigate on your own, proof me this man's innocence and the true culprit."

"Yes!" Heizou nodded, quickly leaving the place.

"Would you help him, Allen?" Sara asked Allen.

"I think that there's no need" Allen said looking at Heizou leaving "He seems to have quite a good head. I will rather be at my own pace than get into this nitty gritty. This could touch on themes that I rather avoid."

"I would prefer you to be with it, but I won't force you" Sara accepted the reason "Let's see where all of this ends."

...

Heizou quickly started recompiling evidences, analyzing all the place and asking around. While asking the public, Sango, a private detective entered the investigation, helping Heizou greatly thanks to her contacts with people.

"Lady Kujou, we have found the culprit!" Heizou and Sango entered Sara's office announcing, Sara and coincidentally Allen being in there. Thanks to Heizou and Sango's cooperation and wit, they quickly reunited enough evidence in little less than two days.

"We have found some witness having seen the culprit just before the crime, making it impossible for him to have committed it..." Heizou started explaining as they moved over Inazuma's City, towards the residential area.

"Once we are sure that the culprit must be someone near him, it's as simple as investigate the high ranking timetable, making sure that is not false and there are true witnesses..." Finally, they stopped over at one particularly house "Analyzing all of it, it could only be one person. Heizou pointed the house in front "The culprit is him, Shiroyama!"

Sara's soldiers burst in the house, prepared to arrest the assassin, however, they found the house interior all ragged, showing hints of robbery.

"Shit!" Heizou quickly dashed over the soldier, directly going towards the main room of the house where under everyone's shock, they found Shiroyama's dead body in the exact position as how they found Isamu. However, this time the sword was still pierced at his back.

"Who could have it been?" Heizou whispered.

'Good luck next time' Allen grinned in his insides as he showed a surprised face 'You were simply too slow.'
