"Are you worried about the banquet tomorrow?" Malcolm squeezed my hand.
"Aren't you?" I leaned against the railing. "It's never been done before."
"Doesn't mean it's going to be bad." He rubbed my back. "But I agree with you as does Simeon and even Darrius. We can't keep fighting each other like this. Some Fae are evil, some dark Fae are good. Your adoptive mother proved that to me. She could have killed you at any point. Could have brought you across the barrier when you came of age to breed you with dark Fae and yet she didn't. She sacrificed herself for you to have a life."
"Thank you." I blinked back tears. "My whole world has flip-flopped and as much as I love it, it definitely takes some getting used to."
"You'll do fine." He kissed my shoulder. "You were born a queen."
I laughed to ease the tension in my chest. "None of that matters without you and Darrius and Simeon. I couldn't do this without the three of you. You all are my foundation, my loves."
