The Fire Place

[A/N: shout out to the people that waited]

[Yuno POV]

Two weeks passed in the blink of an eye; it was now December the coldest month of the year. Snow was everywhere, it reaches up to my knees as I walked back to the church levitating a few fire woods beside me. If you looked around you could see others doing the same but had it worse than me, they wore no coat to protect them from the cold.

'I guess the mana in the environment is very impactful on the weather'

As I kept on walking thinking to myself, I reach the church. Unlike a few years ago when this church did not have an appealing look, it now looked like a new building with few more windows and being painted over. It was all thanks to Asta and I money that we got from hunting, in fact with the money Asta made by selling parts of the Arcas he killed he was able provide money to renovate the inside of the church too.

Entering into the church I could see a few new longs chair in rows leading to the podium father Orsi would stand on, a few candles were also lit inside of the church. Going pass them I reach at the back of the church were everyone else was.

The room had two parts a dinning/kitchen part and a living room. It was decorated with various ornaments; it also has a few couches a dining table and a chimney that had fire in it lighting up the entire room. A few of the children were asleep on the couch, Recca was helping sister Lily in kitchen cooking while Asta and Nash was playing card with father Orsi on the dining table

"I am back!"

"Oh great, Yuno did you get the fire wood"

Taking her eyes off the food that she was preparing, sister Lily turned towards me and asked.

"Yeah, I did I even brought a few extra just in case"

"Good then, the food will be ready soon so you can just set down at the table and wait"

"Ok then, oh Recca you are helping sister Lily today huh?"

Going towards her I patted her head and asked

'Over the years I have really got fond of this people and truly considered them family. I really want to see the children have a better life and be able to be happy, oh no, are they are unlocking the parental instinct in me, I am too young for this'

"Yes, I am, sister Lily has been teaching me"

"I well defiantly taste your cooking then"

With a smile I walked off, leaving Recca and sister Lilly in the kitchen and headed to the dining table where the others were.

"Asta, Asta, Asta if there is one thing, I most teach you is the art of gambling"

Looking surprised at what father Orsi said my mouth went a gap

'aren't you supposed to be a priest why are you teaching a kid how to gamble"

"You need to know different ways to earn money and gambling is one of them. In fact, many magic knights often gamble and if you win you are able to take everything from the, even their clothes. There is a village west of here and its chef is a famous gambler, I heard he cleaned out the new magic knight captain"

'He must be talking about Yami since it's around this time he was supposed to become a magic knight captain'

"Although we commoners may not have a lot of mana, we developed many skills one of those skills being cheating..."

The more and more, father Orsi talked about gambling and cheating the less my view of him being a priest became

"The food is ready!"

Coming toward us with plates filled with food Recca shouted

"I will wake the others then"

Saying this Asta got up and went to wake the others that were sleeping. As I sat down father Orsi began to with me.

"I have been hearing rumours that a pack of wolf have been hunting around the forest as of late. Some people even got attacked by them, they said that the wolves have black fur and whenever they tried to hit them it passes right through them like they were trying to attack air"

'It must be a pack of Shade Wolves but why would the hunt near a village when must of the wild life is much deeper in the forest. Unless there is little wild life in the forest so they decided to attack human settlement'

'No, I doubt it even if there was little amount of wild life in the forest the wolves would just migrate to a different location to get more food then why I will have to figure it out later'

[Fun fact: Wolves will migrate to a different location if it's usually prey also migrate or if there is little wild life in their environment]

Coming back with the others Asta sat down at the table opposite of me while sister Lily and Recca placed the food on the table. We all sat down, Nash was a bit drowse since he just woke up, Asta gruel coming from his mouth looked at the food SISTER Lily made feat, Recca.

"Alright let's pray"

As we clasped our hand we began to pray.

[A/N: the series did not really talk about what religion was in black clover but what I believe is that most races are atheist (except human) or simple don't care to start a religion because they can pretty much do gods works themself, they have [reincarnate magic] which pretty much brings back the dead to life and [blood magic] when used masterfully can make the caster immortal like the Queen of the witches so yeah, I am just gonna skip this]

As when all finished eating everyone went their separate ways; father Orsi when to his room, sister Lily and Recca went into the kitchen and cleaned up, Asta went outside thinking it would be idea to train in the cold and I went next to the fire place holding a book which had a green coloured cover that also seemed to be ruined.

The title of the book was Magic Runes and Applications volume 6. Opening the book and flipping through the pages I stop on page 46 its topic was on Runic language. It showed the different runes and what they represented in my native language.

I realize that runes were basically the process of a program where the mana was the input and the spell was the out but

[a/n: basically, rune array is an IPO chart mana=input rune=process spell=output]

It discussed that by a lining rune in a specific way, pretty much making a sentence of it, can cause various effects When more verbs and description of spell is written in runes the more precise the spell will become.

For example, if you were to write ᛈᛁᛖᚱᚲᛁᚾᚷ ᛋᛈᛖᚨᚱ meaning (piercing spear) a spear of mana would appear and pierce its target. But if you wrote ᚹᛁᚾᛞ ᛈᛁᛖᚱᚲᛁᚾᚷ ᛋᛈᛖᚨᚱ (wind piercing spear) a spear of wind would appear. When I tried to write ᚠᛁᚱᛖ ᛈᛁᛖᚱᚲᛁᚾᚷ ᛋᛈᛖᚨᚱ (Fire piercing spear) what appeared was a mana spear. Also, without the piercing rune the spear would become blunt

By doing this I realize that mana and elements are different while mana is the power that manifest the elements, elements are the attribute added to a spell.

I also realize that if I don't have the attribute for the spell, I cannot cast it using runes. It seems that the runes can only uses the casters mana attribute when doing spells with elements and when using a different attribute unrelated to the caster it would just use mana instead.

[A/N: In other words, elements are mana but with attributes and mana is simply the power source that can cause phenomenon like manifesting elements]

After finishing this topic, I turned the page and reached another topic called The Application of runes. As I was about to start reading a loud noise could be heard from outside

"WOLVES, A PACK OF WOLF ARE AT THE EAST!"

[A/N: I am back how have you guys been I have been doing great. Starting next chapter, the Hunt arc will begin I have been reading a lot of novels related to wolves so I could write this arc properly but just to let you know, I don't know how long this arc will be but I am shooting for 10 chaps or more if you guys have any idea, please tell me I am still new at making my own story arc so I need help. Also, my exam is coming up and I am going to do practise so I might not upload every week but I will try see you all next week
