I LIED...........................or didn't i
'I was right Apateon can create physical illusions but how can a creature use magic in such an advanced way. That 'king' of their must have taught him, regardless there is always a weakness in any spell'
Taking in a quick breath I try to regain my composure. Standing straight I closed my eye and focuses
'There are 4 enemies 3 being physical illusions of Apateon and 1 being the real body but how can I find the real one, think'
As I was thinking an idea popped into my head, but my opponent could not wait for me to implement it. Reopening my eyes, I saw two of the figures that were in the illusionary mist pounce towards me. Although they were still blanketed by the fog, I could still see their figures.
As both of them approached me I created a strong gust of wind to propel me up in the air. Dodging their attack and flying above the trees I was now 10-30 meters in the air. Looking down I could see the whole battlefield, Asta was a few distance away from where I was fighting Apateon, still fighting the remaining wolves.
Seeing that Asta was a few distance away from me, I became more determined. I was holding back myself as well, since Asta was now a distance away I can now do some AoE spells. Raising my hand, I quickly brought it down as a few words came though my lips.
"[Wind Magic: Storm of Crescent Wind]"
In an instant ten if not hundreds of crescent blades of wind appeared around me but as they appeared they immediately vanished. Falling to the ground at tremendous speed they slash and cleaved through the trees that were in their path to their intended target.
As the Crescent blades of winds reached the ground dirt, snow and few trees flew into the air the fog that was created by Apateon was destroyed by the continuous damage that was dealt by my attacks. Also, few stray crescent blades of wind were sent toward the edge of Asta area killing the wolves there
Still in the air I watch as all the snow and debris fade away, I can now see the aftermath of my AoE spell. The once snow-covered ground was now completely beer, the trees were uprooted, multiple slash marks everywhere and my opponents... well they were nowhere to be found.
All the physical illusions of Apateon were cut into minced meat and quickly faded away, not leaving a single hint of their existence. As for the real Apateon I did see one of them turn into his mist form during the attack but was still cut by a few of them.
Slowly descending and landing safely back on the ground I was heavily panting for air, but I observed my surrounding for any immediate attack
'There is another reason why I did not cast that spell in the beginning, and it is because of the strain it does to my mana reserves. Even when I am blessed with the soul of a royal prince, and of an elf and a body that is loved by mana without a grimoire to help it puts a stain on my mental strength to cast such a complex spell and those type of spell will drain 50 if not 75% of my mana reserves'
[A/N after reading the wiki for black clover I figured that grimoires are pretty many calculators or computers 1+1=2, spells foundation (desire of mage) + mana =spell it helps to calculate complex spell for you, so you don't have to do it]
'But regardless, Apateon must be injured by that attack, and I won't miss this opportunity to kick him while he is down'
[Apateon 3rd POV]
Now facing a barrage of crescent wind blades Apateon tried to dodge the onslaught even turning into his foggy form but still could not come out unscathed. A few of the crescent wind were able to hit him before he could even change into his foggy form, and one was able to sever 2/5 of him
Reappearing back at the edge of the of the clear area he and multiple wounds on him and bled heavily from his missing arm part. Painting heavily, he tried to balance using his remaining limbs.
"DAMN IT! How could such a young and weak human do this to me? Non the less casting such a spell would use up all his magic so there is no way he can cast that again"
"You are right I cannot cast that spell again"
Looking up Apateon saw the culprit for his injuries at growled towards him
"That means you are low on mana arn't-"
"Tell me you said, you where the 3rd vassal to your king does that mean there are more of you?"
*Scoffs*
"And why should I tell you about anything"
"Because you have already lost, I might not be able to cast that spell but that does not mean I am out of mana"
As the human said this his mana erupted from his body giving off an intimidating aura
"I still have enough to kill you at least"
'DAMN IT I have no other option but to call for back up'
Breathing in as much air as possible into his lungs, Apateon howled to the sky as loud as possible.
*HHHOOOWWWLLLL*
'I might have been defeated but that does not mean I lost'
As Apateon finished he looked towards the human expecting to see a worried expression on his face but instead saw a smile that alerted him
[Normal POV]
As Apateon howled towards the sky I smiled at is his worthless attempt
'Does he really think I would let him call for back up'
Apateon finished howling at looked towards me with a specular look in his eyes
"Tell me do you know why no one from my village has come to investigate the noise from our battle better yet why even the wolves that was with you did not come back to help you"
Apateon quickly looked around realizing that the wolves that was still fighting the second human did not come to his aid
"it's because they can't hear us no matter how much you howl to them. Like I have said you have lost"
As Apateon realized the situation he was in he was filled with despair. No longer finding the strength to keep his balance he fell to the ground. Even if he could escape the loss of so much blood would still kill him
"Now tell me about your pack and leader"
