Welcome to the Elite Team!

Xavier launched his magic attack mid-air at me just as Colton was about to strike me with his half-claw. I backflipped and dodged at the last second to avoid both strikes to evade both episodes. And at that exact moment, I saw the second assault coming from Hudson, who was sprinting towards me while I was still backflipping in the air to attack me. However, I launched a magic blast and a throwing strike toward Hudson, Xavier, and Colton at the exact moment, causing them to back away from me as my foot touched the ground.

I see Colton has recovered quickly since he has the sword in his possession, and he is walking towards me, attempting to strike me with the sword. I also brought my Katana, and the two of us fought with one other and parted, gazing at each other intently for a strike. Colton's use of the same blade and method of combat brought back memories from my prior existence.

I pushed down the memories since I didn't want to be haunted by them at the wrong moment.

Colton strikes me with a sword, and I also evade some of them and block others. I was familiar with Colton's fighting technique from previous experience, and I could see Colton's eyes becoming annoyed at my effort to stop him. I realize what Colton is thinking is how I can easily read his movements.

I sensed a sneak attack coming from behind me. Hudson landed a kick on my back, but I was too late to notice him. I fall forward, sensing the opportunity, and Colton attacks me as I stand, but I stop him as I stand back, wobbling; Hudson's blow is too powerful for my human body to handle.

I saw Colton strolling towards me with his sword, and the recollection of my prior existence of dying at his hands came back to me. After then, I'm not sure what happened, but my body felt like it was burning with power, and it was so difficult for me to contain a wave of energy that the ground convulsed. At that precise moment, a magical barrier that the professor had built to protect them shielded all the students in the stadium. The electricity was blazing, and dust swirled about me like a whirlwind. I saw Xavier, Colton, and Hudson look at me as if they didn't understand what was happening.

"Aria put an end to the power you're using. It'll destroy everyone else." After immediately reverting to his human form, Xavier uttered a shrill scream.

"I don't know what's happening to me; I do not know how to stop it." My voice was hoarse as I talked.

When Mark Quill arrived on the battlefield, my power flared more intensely, and Mr. Mark chanted something. His hands gleamed in a white hue, and they battled with the magic that was struck like a storm.

It was a battle between the white magic and my storm-like strength, but gradually the white magic gained control over my storms of magic, which were dying progressively down itself. I did not know that my body was floating in the air by magic, but as the power left me, I felt so lightheaded, and I saw the sun above me sparkling as my body fell in free fall, but someone caught me before my body touched the earth.

I peek through my eyelashes to see who is holding me, and they meet my sight with the ocean blue of the Hudson, which is staring back at me. But, gradually, everything becomes black and opaque in my field of view, and the cacophony of students' cries fades away.

My first sight upon opening my eyes was the ceiling of my dorm room, followed by a gradual movement of my eyes to find Maggie in front of my view, who stared at me with a concerned expression. Then, after a few moments, I noticed the warm blanket draped over me and my arm entangled in an IV.

"How long had I been unconscious?" I speak in a croaking voice, my lips dry, and Maggie hands me a glass of water, which I swallow in one gulp since my dessert mouth desperately needs water.

"For the last three days, you've been unconscious," Maggie spoke solemnly.

"Can you tell me what occurred after I passed out?" In a whisper, I inquired.

"I only witnessed a little scene since I was also in the infirmary bed, but I saw Hudson was holding you in his arms till the medic arrived and took you to the emergency department, and I noticed Principal Mark Quill walking close after medics to the emergency room. You were just transferred back to your dorm from the infirmary yesterday." Maggie said as she poured orange juice into the glass for me.

"Aria, how are you feeling? Should I contact the nurse to check on you?" I took the glass from Maggie's hands and nodded in agreement, and after a few minutes, I saw a nurse coming over to check on me. Then, a knock at the door startled Maggie and me, and it turned out to be Principal Mark.

"Miss. Hart, How are you feeling?" Principal Mark inquires as his icy stare sweeps across my face.

" Sir, I am in good health," I said.

"I'm glad to hear that you're doing well, Miss. Hart. Then there is the news I will deliver to you, Miss. Hart and Miss. Hall, we elect you both to join the elite of seniors, and I will give you the new dorm among the other wing along with compensation, as promised." Principal Mark's statements shocked me since I had not yet finished my exam to dismiss three senior students; seeing Maggie's reaction confirmed my own.

"Sir, how did you choose me? Unfortunately, I failed the test." Maggie inquires.

"I expected you to scream joyfully, as Eva Carter did when I shared the same information. However, in response to your question, I believe both Miss Hall and Miss. Hart has potential. Is there anything else I can help you with?" Principal Mark inquires. The news that Eva had also advanced to the senior level was disappointing.

"Thank you for informing us of Joy's news and assisting me in regaining control of my strength on the battlefield," I say. Principal Mark was a complicated guy to read, since he constantly had a solemn expression. Afterward, the nurse gave me a prescription to help me recover.

"Aria, can you believe they have selected both of us to join the top team? I am thrilled and will share the news with my mother, who will also be pleased." Maggie said as she bounced into the room, grabbed her phone, and walked out to speak with her mother on the phone. I could feel the warm tears welling up in my eyes, but I forced them back inside, determined not to let them get the better of me.

"You have some visitor to see, Aria," Maggie says as she opens the door and steps in, Xavier following at the toe as his emerald eyes scan me, and he shares a grin with me.
