The Black Killer

I was floating in total darkness. My parents were just there in my dreams. It felt so real like they were alive still being the best parents that they could be but it wasn't. I woke up somewhere I definitely had no idea of. It didn't look like a hospital. I was lying on a bed and there was a man standing there watching me. He had worn a jacket with a hoodie over his head. He had his face covered so I couldn't take notice of his face but his smell filled the whole room. He had a well built body with his huge biceps. What was more distracting was his flat belly which was hidden behind the black tank top he was wearing.

'Who are you and why did you bring me here?' I asked trying to sound bold but deep down I felt scared. He made me feel intimidated with his eyes void of emotions. I could feel his eyes on me through the mask on his face. I felt pain all over my body so I couldn't raise my body up.

Back in Jade's grandparents house

Jade had not returned home for two days straight. They called the police, pasted posters around the neighbourhood asking if they knew her whereabouts but to no one had an idea. They started to think maybe she was kidnapped or possibly murdered. The police still had not found the person who killed Jade's parents. The house was filled with cries that didn't stop after the homicide but now worsened after Jade disappeared.

Jade's point of view

I asked,' who are you and why did you bring me here? I asked again but this time I managed to raise myself up through the pains. I was covered in bruises and bandages. 'I will scream if you don't answer me', I yelled. He chuckled harder and harder and then returned to his serious face. 'Don't you dare do anything stupid or else I will feed you to the lions', he said with an authoritative voice. I felt intimidated but I didn't want to show it. 'Why did you bring me here? I questioned. 'Since you don't know how to cross the road and didn't try to look both ways my car ended up running you over so I brought you here to make sure you are alive', he replied. I looked around for windows or any possible places to escape from but there were no spaces to crawl out of. This man is giving me bad vibes and I don't like his demeanour at all. I was also scanning his body to look for unique features since his face was covered in a mask. It was then that someone came in saying,' Black Killer we have found the one who killed some of our men'. Black Killer! I exclaimed and jumped out of the bed. He is the leader of one of the famous mafia groups in Ghana. The police have tried to arrest him since he is known for killing people but they haven't been very successful. He is pretty good at leaving a crime scene without any traces of him. I don't know why someone as heartless as him would bring me here to take care of me, he could have just left me on the street and driven off. However, it didn't stop me from feeling frightened. He could end up changing his mind and squash me like a bug. I went down on my knees to plead for my life. 'Get out of here before I dismantle you', He said to the person who walked in. My eyes opened even more. The man had left me alone with this man. There were tattoos on his arm, his super large arms. He looked like he was thinking a lot before he finally spoke,' I can't let you leave now that you know who I am'.

'I promise, I won't tell anyone please spare my life', I responded. There was some awkward silence between us once again before he continued, 'How am I supposed to believe you'. 'Look at least let me call my grandparents so that they are not worried. They have been through enough psychological stress for me to add on to their pain', I said. 'How stupid do you think I am to do that? You want to end up telling them my location', He said but this time he seemed irritated. 'I don't even know where I am so I can't tell them anything about your little hideout', I responded.

He chuckled until he exited the room. He definitely would not free me so I have to escape. How? The Black Killer is a skilful murderer, the police even find it hard to catch him. If I try to escape he would kill me without difficulty but I have to try. It would be risky but if I don't I would end up dying in here. Even though the pains I am feeling all over my body is unbearable, I have to endure it and make a run for it.

I waited for the place to become quiet and calm. I opened the door a little and tried to see if the coast is clear. Upon seeing that it is the right time to leave, I tiptoed away, I had no idea where I was going. The place was dark and there place smelt horrible. I guess a lot of people have been killed and left to rot in here. How do these people live in this without getting bothered by the smell? Maybe they just enjoy the fact that they cause pain to people and also the smell of decaying flesh.

Holding my nose, I tiptoed slowly until I got to a lobby which was not so dark but the light there was quite dim. There was a lady dressed in black. She had her raven black afro hair was tied up in a ponytail with cigarettes between her to forefinger and puffing on them. She had a bird tattoo on her neck. She looks like she could be my age or a little older. Her chocolate coloured skin was marked with scars. How can such a young and beautiful lady be a part of this evilness? Maybe she has never got love, or her parents didn't have money and she turned into a criminal to get some money. I watched her for about ten minutes but she wouldn't move or fall asleep. I had to think of ways to slip past her without seeing me. As I raised my leg to move slower than before, I stepped on a stick. The sound of stick breaking caught her attention and before I knew it she came yelling, 'Hey, where do you think you are going', she pointed her gun at me.
