Security Breach?

Kathryn

I threw some popcorn into my mouth as I trod along the streets with a guy whose name I am not aware of.

And who I didn't know.

“Wait,” I twisted my head towards him, “What’s your name?”

He shook his head chuckling before answering. “My name is Katsuki. Do you usually ask for a name after they’ve spent money on you?”

“Not all. Just you.” I popped another piece of popcorn into my mouth. He faked hurt making me roll my eyes.

“You wound me, Angela.”

I internally cringed at the fake name I had given him. My conscience didn’t prick me one second, it was just weird hearing my mother's name after so long.

I could cry. Maybe.

“Your aura is calm. You’re a Moon, right?”

“But yours is calm too. Let me guess, you’re an Ocean.”

“You didn’t answer my question, but, I’m an Ocean.”

We kept on walking and I caught him stealing glances at me.

Way to be subtle.

I spotted a donut shop ahead and immediately grabbed his hand not noticing the blush spreading across his face. “Come on! I love donuts!”

We got to the shop and I stopped him as he brought out his wallet. “It’s ok, you’ve already bought me something before.”

“It’s okay, Kathryn. Let me do this for you.”

“How did you?”

My eyes widened as I asked, he laughed shaking his head.

“Here’s your donut.” He gave me my donut before checking his watch. “We need to get back. The meeting starts in 30 minutes.”

“You didn’t answer my question.” He turned around to look at me, smirking.

“You didn’t answer mine either.”

What sorcery is this? I was so careful!

“Come on! I made sure to keep stray thoughts out of my head because you were an Ocean!”

“Oh, I know how hard you worked. It’s just, that I saw you and your friends talking and your hair was so unique. I’ve only ever seen that color on one person.”

Curse my attention-grabbing hair.

Again.

"Who?"

He smirked and began walking in the direction of the venue. "My boss."

I stood there — popcorn pouring out my mouth as I stared in shock. "Wait!"

I began stumbling towards him. "The only probable person is Isabella!"

He kept walking not bothering to stop.

"Wait!"

----

"It's very obvious that I should have stayed home."

I glanced up from my phone to Henry's annoyed face. I couldn't blame hime though, I was dozing off throughout the entire meeting.

"You know, all this could have been an email."

I snorted at that. He wouldn't have read it anyways.

He paused for a second

"What's so funny, little miss?"

"You wouldn't have read it even if it was sent as an email. None of us would have." I looked into my chips bag trying to see if another one would appear.

"Tsk."

A finger flicked my forehead.

"Ow!" My chip bag dropped as my hands moved up to massage the attacked area. "What was that for?"

"You're one to talk." He rolled his eyes, bending down to pick up the bag and trash it. "You're not the one who had to write down everything for Walter."

"Well, I'm sorry tha-"

"At least you weren't being shaken the entire time."

We both turned towards the origin of the voice.

Green.

Clayton sat down beside us. "My boss is a lot to bear."

Henry threw a sympathetic gaze in his direction. But as he opened his mouth to speak, the building shook.

A body dropped from above, blood seeping out.

An alarm began to blare. "Attention please. The security has been breached by an unknown entity."

Our eyes met each other. "Security breach?"

"The entity is spreading fast. Please evacuate the building. Now."

A beat.

People began to scream.
