As I finally began to drift off to sleep after tossing and turning for what felt like an eternity. My phone started buzzing. I groan, blindly reaching for the thing. Finally, I grab it. Not bothering to check the name, I press accept and push it to my ear.
“Hello,” I grumbled, my voice thick with sleep.
“Oh, sorry, honey, did I wake you?” My mum apologised, her voice seeming brightener than it had only a few hours ago when she had refused to leave Storm in the hospital after visiting hours.
“No, is Storm okay?” I question, sitting up.
“Yes. It’s why I’m calling you; actually, she woke up about an hour ago. The Doctors have checked her over, and it looks like, thankfully, she hasn’t done any major damage to her organs; her brain activity is also normal. However, they are going to keep her here at least another 48 hours for observation,” She explained.
“That’s really great news. What about her mental health?” I considered.
