CHAPTER 66: REFLECT BARRIER (2)

After a bit over an hour of intense concentration, the siblings finally finished their barriers and stepped out of them.

"Alright, let me test them." Teran observed the barriers before deciding to test whether or not they would actually work.

He swiftly created two stone bullets and fired them at the barriers, and immediately after they impacted the barriers, the bullets got deflected to the sides while the barriers themselves shivered like jelly.

"Hmm, they are durable and have the correct feel to them. But they're absorbing the force and dispersing it, not reflecting." Teran analyzed. When the bullets hit the barrier, most of the force got dispersed outwards, drastically decreasing the strength of the bullets which then got deflected due to the shape of the barriers, but that wasn't the intended purpose.

"You two simply created the wave patters, but didn't actually do anything with them. The patters are supposed to move around and carry the force back to the point of impact, otherwise, the force will simply get absorbed and dispersed like what just happened. Though that in itself isn't a bad barrier design, it's weak to penetrative type attacks." As Teran said this, he pointed towards the barriers, specifically the point of impact, and the siblings saw what resembled a tear on the area.

"But how do we move the waves the correct way? And how do we make sure that the different waves don't collide with each other?" Victoria spoke up with curiosity.

"Watch this." Teran immediately made them turn their attention to his hand, and then a small dome appeared on where his palm was supposed to.

As they paid close attention to the dome, they noticed the dome all had the same wave like patterns on its surface, then, they realized that they were moving in a specific way.

The way the waves were arranged resembled layers that spread out as they moved backwards. This could be seen all over the lower part of the dome before converging at the top.

Then, Teran lightly hit one side of the dome, and immediately, the waves spread out and the ones that were hit quickly morphed to join the out spreading waves which quickly turned everything into one large wave pattern.

When all the waves reached the back of the barrier, they converged into one spot before dispersing once again towards where Teran hit. And when it reached, it converged one last time, and then dispersed the force.

"Do you guys get it now?" Teran asked and the siblings immediately nodded.

"Now reconfigure the pattern to the waves on you barriers." Teran instructed and the siblings immediately got to work.

They began to change the formation of the waves and changed it to resemble the one that Teran had showed them. Moreover, they made the waves flexible so that they would actually move accordingly after the barrier was hit.

Teran nodded after seeing their work and immediately created two more stone bullets and immediately fired them at the barriers.

This time, the results were more acceptable as even though it wasn't all, some of the force was returned to the bullets which caused them to bounce backwards.

"That was better, but the force wasn't returned properly because the layers still need a bit of work. Moreover, you two are creating an additional layer which is the waves instead of just making the waves on the surface of the barrier, so less force is absorbed and returned." Teran one again pointed out the deficiencies in the barriers made by the duo.

Hearing where they had made the mistake, the duo once again worked hard to fix them up, earning a nod from Teran.

'Now that I think about it, why are they so hardworking? There were so many different occasions where me and everyone else had an opportunity to train, and we instead squandered those opportunities. But these two not only are talented, they soak up knowledge like sponges and immediately work towards improving themselves.' Immediately after having that thought, Teran realized that they probably hadn't had any opportunity to relax and unwind.

'It's good to be hardworking, but they've been at it for months without a break. Maybe they should spend the next month relaxing. I know that there a possible planetary level threat, but they'll eventually burn out at this rate.' Teran concluded and immediately decided to tell the others about his plan.

There was also the fact that the duo hadn't really seen what this world had to offer and had only seen Baal's castle, Draven's cabin, Sia's forest, the canyon Teran stayed, and the World tree.

Although some of these were undoubtedly incredible, one could easily get bored from seeing the same thing over and over again. So Teran planned to make the siblings take a break to refresh their minds as well as well as let them see what the world had to offer.

The two siblings who were unaware of Teran's plan diligently improved their barriers to meet Teran's standards.
