Moving

Raja then said, "What? Don't you guys know the rules of rock, paper, and scissors?"

And Gen said, "We don't? Who in the world doesn't know how to play it, Raja?"

"Then what's the problem?"

Lina then said, "The problem is that you just made that up."

And Raja said, "What? I didn't make it up. Isn't that how you play here in the desert?"

"No. Here, in this case, it would be a draw."

"Draw? Why would it be a draw?"

"Because the rock breaks the scissors, the scissors cut the paper, and the paper covers the rock, so it's a draw."

"But that doesn't make sense. How is the cut paper going to cover the rock? Or how will the broken scissors cut the paper?"

"Well, it really makes sense if you think about it that way, but it gives a draw because you have no way to decide an order of attack."

"What do you mean there isn't? The order when there are three people is always the reverse alphabetical order."

"What?! Where did you get that from?"

"What do you mean, guys? The rules have always been like that. It's like you've never played rock, paper, and scissors before."

Gen then said, "And why do you think your way of playing is the right way?"

And Raja said, "It's simple, Gen. My way has a lot fewer draws than yours. So mine is definitely the right one."

"Oh yeah? But from what I understand, in your way of playing, the scissors win almost nothing."

"Actually, they don't win anything. Everyone knows that scissors are the worst choice in a three-person game. I don't even know why anyone would choose it."

"Hey, don't talk about scissors like that. You're mistaken. If there are two papers, the scissors win."

"Of course not. It depends on the order, but the only possible outcomes are a tie or the paper wins."

"What? Are you out of your mind? How can it give those results?"

"It's simple, Gen. If the scissors start, it cuts one paper, but the other paper covers it, so it loses, and if one of the papers starts, it covers the other paper, becoming a ball of paper that the scissors can't cut, so it's a draw."

Lina then said, "Hmm, that makes sense."

And Gen said, "How does that make sense?!"

"Gen, stop being a sore loser and let's get on with it. I want to eat my breakfast."

"Fine, but you lost too. How are we going to decide on second place? Are we going to play again?"

"What? No, Gen, I clearly came in second place. Aren't you paying attention?"

"What?! What do you mean? Explain it to me."

"It's simple: Gen. Raja covered up my stone, and then he broke your scissors with it. So, if you look at the result, my stone is stuck, but your scissors are destroyed. So I clearly came second."

Raja then said, "She's right, Gen. Basic, rock, paper, and scissors."

And Gen said, "... All right, you win. Let's get this over with so we can eat."

Raja then said, "Okay, I'll have that couch. Help me get it to my room."

And Gen said, "And what would your room be?"

"I'll take the first room on the left coming here."

Lina then said, "Ok, I'll take the first room on the right then."

And Gen said, "Hmm, I'll take the second room on the left then."

They then walked over to the couch and helped Raja lift it, but Dehji said, 'Gen, you don't have to do that.'

'What do you mean, Dehji?'

'There's an easier way to move the furniture. Keep exploring the room.'

'Okay.'

Gen then said, "Wait a minute."

And Raja said, "What is it, Gen?"

"Dehji told me there's an easier way to move the furniture here in the room. Let's look around a bit."

"Oh, okay."

The three of them started walking around the room, looking for something different, and after a while, Lina said, "Gen, I found some cards. Is that what he's talking about?"

And Gen said, "Let me see it."

Lina then came towards him and said, "Here.", showing him the card that was transparent and had several lines running across it.

Dehji then said, 'It's not that, but it's good that she found these cards.'

And Gen said, 'Why? Is there something special about them?'

'These cards can store an essence.'

'Store essence? You mean I can put my essence on them, and other people can use it?'

'No, it only stores it.'

'Then what is it good for?'

'To open the doors here.'

'Open the doors? But I can do that already.'

'Yes, you can, but Raja and Lina can't. With these cards, they won't need your help if they want to take a bath, make some food, and so on.'

'That's true. How do I store my essence on them?'

'Just use your essence on them, and they will start to suck it out.'

'When you say suck it out, you don't mean the same way it was when I fueled the digger, right?'

'Of course not, Gen. After all, one of them is a transportation, and the other is a card, there's no way they can be the same.'

'Hmm, you're right. Well, let me explain it to them both.'

Gen then said, "Dehji told me, that's not it."

And Lina said, "That's too bad."

"No. It's a good thing you found that. He told me that these cards would allow you two to walk around the digger without my help. I just need to store my essence in them."

"That's great. I thought I would have to call you every time I wanted to take a bath."

Raja then thought, 'How unlucky of you, Gen.'

Gen then said, "Yes, that will save me a lot of time. How many of them did you find?"

"Eight, the same as the number of rooms."

"Got it. Give me two of them, and I'll make a card for you and a card for Raja."

"Okay. Here."

Gen then took the cards in his hand and thought, 'Now I just need to use my essence on them.'

He then began to use the essence, and the cards started to color themselves the color of his mist to the point where they became the same color.

Gen then said, "I guess it's over. That was easier than I thought. Here, Lina, take one."

Lina then reached out to take one of the cards when suddenly, Gen bent his arm and started shouting, "ARGH! WHAT IS THAT?!"

And Lina said, "Gen, what is it?!"

Gen then said, "THIS CARD, IT'S -, ahh! It finally stopped!"

Gen's body was sweaty, and Lina asked, "What was that, Gen?! What just happened?!"

"The cards sucked my mist into them."

"Like when we fueled the digger?"

"Yeah, only about four times faster."

"Well, at least it's over now."

"Yeah."

And Gen said, 'Dehji! Didn't you say it's not the same?!'

And dehji said, 'And it's not Gen. The cards pull fog a little faster than the digger.'

'A little faster? Didn't you hear what I just said?'

'I did, and it was your fault it was so fast.'

'My fault?'

'Yeah. Who told you to make two cards at the same time?'

'... Ahh! Whatever, but next time, please let me know in advance.

'If I told you, would you have made the card?'

'... Yes.'

'You know you wouldn't, Gen. Look on the bright side. The worst is over, and you made the cards.'

'All right, but let me know anyway.'

'I will.'

Gen then said, "Here, take your card."

Lina reached out, took it, and then said, "Well, let's keep looking."

And Gen said, "Yes.", and then was about to start looking when they heard Raja say, "Gen, I think I found what Dehji was talking about. Come here."

And Gen said, "I'm coming.", and started toward Raja's voice, and Lina came right behind him.

The two arrived where Raja was, and he then pointed and said, "Look at this, Gen. This must be what Dehji was talking about."

Gen then looked where he was pointing and saw several four-wheeled carts that must have had room to put an entire couch on top of them.

Dehji then said, 'These are the ones I was talking about. They're designed to move furniture in and out of rooms.'

Gen then said, "He said that's it, Raja."

And Raja said, "That's nice, but there's a problem."

"What? What problem?"

"I've tried every possible way to get them out of the place, and I can't. They seem to be stuck here."

"Really? Let me see."

Gen then approached, and as he tried to pull them out, he said, "It's true. It's like I'm trying to pull up a wall."

Dehji then said, 'Just use your essence, Gen.'

'I just need to use it?'

'Yeah.'

'Okay?'

Gen then tried to pull again but used his essence this time, and that caused the cart to move out of place.

Raja then said, "How did you do that?"

And Gen said, "The same way I open the passages between the rooms."

"Damn, looks like you'll have to move all the furniture then Gen."

"Not necessarily. Here you go."

Raja then took one of the cards Gen had prepared and asked, "A card? What are you giving me this for?"

"This card allows you to open the passages without my help."

"Really?"

"Yes, and that's not all. Try pulling the cart again."

"Okay."

Raja then went towards the cart and tried to move it, but this time, the cart moved, and then he said, "It really worked."

And Gen said, "Good. Since you can now walk between rooms on your own, what do you say we each take what we want from here and meet in the kitchen later?"

Raja then said, "Fine by me."

And Lina said, "Sure."

Gen then took a cart and said, "Great. I'll be going then. I want to carry some things from my current room to one of these new rooms.", and then left the room with the cart.
