The unfathomable enemy guarding the exit?

After that, after Ikoma's heart glowed, they immediately kicked him out of the train because of their measly fear of the kabane and death

---{The Present...}----

After Kurusu kicked out Ikoma, he now brought the argument to the chat group members

"And you 4! Who even are you! I'm sure that you are not from our station! Ayame-sama this suspicious people may be a danger for all of us!" Kurusu said to Ayame who is confused and scared to even reply

"Yeah! Yeah! They may also be bitten by the kabane!" One of the survivors in the Koutetsujou shouted

"Yeah!"

"Kick them out!"

"Don't ever come back

That shout caused a chain reaction to the others so they started shouting too

Baaang!

Kan took Nekros out and fired a warning shot on the ceiling that silenced everyone

"Shut all your fucking mouths up.. We 4, don't care about any of you fuckers" Kana said as he pointed to the crowd of survivors with Nekros

"We don't care about your measly fear and cowardice... this may seem merciless, but we are only here for the people that we need to guard" King, Mieruko, and Kajika took a step back at their leader's behavior

They were kinda scared of his eerily calm composure, and the bloodlust that he was releasing from his shining(?), blood-red eyes

"W-who are the people that you need to guard?" Ayame, who is scared, said

"Hmm, you, him, her, him, him, him, and Yukina" Kana pointed to Ayame, Kurusu, Mumei, Ikoma, Takumi, Sukari

"B-but why us?" Ayame confusedly asked Kana

"I'm sorry but I can't tell you that" Kana waved his hand signalling her that he can't

"Ayame-sama, please come into the front of the train" They heard the voice of Yukina from the communication tubes

"Let me come with you" Just as Ayame and Kurusu made their way into the front of the train, Kana said to them that made them stop

"Why?" Kurusu asked Kana while glaring at him

"She's my lover" Kana said while also making his way into the front of the train

When they arrived, the nobles and some bushi were inside the front cart

"Ayame-sama! What happened back ther-" 1 of the nobles asked Ayame

"Don't worry about it, it has been resolved peacefully" Ayame answered while looking discreetly at Kana

"Who is he Ayame-sama?" Another 1 of the nobles asked Ayame

"This gentleman right here is the lover of our current train operator" Ayame answered calmly with her eyes turning into crescents

The nobles didn't inquire further when they knew that he was the lover of the one and only train operator on board of the Koutetsujou

If they offended him his lover, the train operator, may refuse to operate the train, thus sealing their fate

Kana came to the front right beside Yukina

"What is the problem Yukina?" Kana asked Yukina

"The exit gate's automatic opener cannot be opened... we need someone outside to manually flip the lever" Yukina explained to Kana

"E-emergency! A man is fighting through the hordes of kabane to open the gates!" The bushi keeping watch on the observatory reported

"What?!" Kurusu immediately went to check the situation while Ayame and Kana follows behind him

Gasp!

Ayame gasped at the sight she saw, she saw the man that was kicked out earlier killing the kabane

"Uraaah!" Ikoma finally reached the lever and flipped it

King, Mieruko, and Kajika went outside and started lighting up the kabane outside

"Let me go and get him" King jumped over the rail of the side of the train and swooped Ikoma over his right arm

Clank! Clank! Clank!

King very easily made it into the side of the train again and dropped Ikoma like a bag of potatoes

"Great job Kingu-san!" Kajika happily said through the comms

"Great job, wohoo..." Mieruko deadpanned King

"Don't be like that Mieruko-chan, don't be so gloomy!" King knocked Mieruko's helmet

"Ouch!" Mieruko cried of pain

While they were bantering, the other people who saw the spectacle was awed even though they felt a little left out

The Koutetsujou rode smoothly until....

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Koutetsujou shook, and they heard something big and heavy coming over

"Iyaah! We're dead!" The people was quickly filled with dread as they didn't know what was coming, panic quickly filled the Koutetsujou

Kana's stoic face quickly turned into a little scowl

"What is it now? I don't remember this happening in the anime" Kana whispered to himself

As far as Kana knew the anime, the train ride was supposed to move smoothly without any hindrance

Kana was very unhappy with the unknown variable that was coming, so he immediately disappeared from his previous spot and reappeared at the roof of 1 of the carts in the Koutetsujou

He heard heavy, booming footsteps coming nearer the train

He looked up and he saw it...

The thing was hulking huge, it was made out of kabane sticking to it like glue, it had 2 huge, curved horns coming from the side of it's head, a huge maw, and a red, shining, core on it's chest, it also has huge arms with sharp-looking claws, and a huge behemoth feet that very much looks like an elephant's feet, it's eyes were a blinding yellow color that radiates bloodlust.... Kana knew what this was.... he knew what they were dealing with was a Fused Colony

A Fused Colony (Yuugou Guntai) is a titanic amalgamation of Kabane, animated or otherwise, that form an animated, humanoid shape. Easily able to tower even the grandest of buildings, a colony can be as large as the number of bodies it has accumulated, and a single fallen station seems more than capable of producing enough bodies for one's creation. The Kabane incorporated into the colony seem to be consciously gripping on, or otherwise fused, to each other to form the shape.

A notification sound came again, and it displayed another interface
