Chapter 1: Awaken

(MC POV)

I lick the blood off my lips as the taste of iron is overwhelmed by the intense pain coming from a giant hole in my chest.

'Looks like this is the end for me, even after all my meticulous actions I still couldn't foresee this outcome. To think that all my actions I took to ensure my safety would be the cause of my death. I remember when I was a child I was always thought that I could become someone great and important who would go down in history as an important figure. Now I realize that I am extremely ordinary, there is nothing special about me. There is nothing that makes me special, despite this I managed to make a name for myself.I recognize that I have no talent, the only way I could advance in my career was by benefiting off the suffering of others and by exploiting those around me. Even then the amount I could accomplish was limited by my own stupidity and incompetence and now I'm bleeding out on the floor in an ally way where no one will find me. I suppose this is the end of my tale, if only there was another option, a second opportunity that I could grasp, but now it's all over.'

Just as I'm about to close my eyes a blue transparent window glitches in front my eyes with a loud beep.

[Would you like a second chance?]

My eyes widen as I read the text from the blue window and a feeling of anticipation builds inside me.

The blue window once again asks the question and I quickly analyze my situation.

'Seems like some type of reincarnation system that follows the rule of equivalent exchange. Basically signing a deal with the devil, I would never agree to something like this but I don't have a choice. The current circumstances make it so that I have no choice to accept, I can only hope to survive right now.'

I weakly open my mouth to speak and a raspy voice softly calls out, "I want a second chance."

With another beep the blue window fades out of existence as I feel a force pushing intense amounts of pressure on me.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

(? Time Later)

I open my eyes in a panic as I look around at the surroundings in disbelief. I open my mouth to speak and realize that my throat is extremely parched so I get up from the ground to look for water.

[A strange energy has been created in your body, this energy will now be called psychic energy.]

A strange energy forms around my body and I feel like I just grew a new limb. I focus on this energy and it condenses in my hand to form a pink transparent ball. I gaze at this strange sight in amazement as my mind races to come up with an explanation for my current situation.

'Have I reincarnated into some type of fantasy world? There is no other way to explain my current circumstances, the system calls this pink energy psychic energy, have I been transmigrated into some fantasy world? This definitely isn't my original body, my new body seems to be very young and full of energy and life.'

I walk to a nearby pond and look down at my reflection, a young boy around 12 looks back at me. I have no features that could be considered extraordinary in my world besides my pink eyes that seem to radiate light. This new body has sunken cheeks as if it was malnourished for a long period of time and dark spots all over it's body.

Gazing around I find a large tree that contains some blue oval berries that remind me of something.

[Oran Berry, a berry that heals 10 hp when consumed.]

I pause to take in this new information as a giant smile spreads across my face when I realize where I am.

'So this is the world of Pokemon, that means that the strange energy that my body began to produce is the same thing that psychics in this world use.'

I slowly move my hand as I feel the psychic energy radiating off me. I fell a force push out and the tree begins to shake causing one of the oran berries to fall and just before it can hit the ground it completely comes to a halt before slowing floating up to my hand.

[Host has gained a new skill, Telekinesis, through repeated use.]

'If this system operates the way I believe it does then I should be able to view my body's condition by simply saying status.'

'Hmm, common human being my race would suggest the existence of higher forms of human life. It seems that I'm not going by the standards of Pokemon either because while I do have a level I don't have stats like a Pokemon in the games would. Not to mention the fact that I have telekinesis marked as a skill that can be advanced through repeated use.'

I tap my finger against the skill window labeled "Limit Breaker" to read the description.

[Limit Breaker, a skill that grants the user the ability to break past their limits and advance their skills at a rate unmatched by anyone in the world at the cost of consuming energy from other life forms. The user can also use this skill on other life forms at higher tiers.]

I grin in amazement at the prospect of being able to improve without limits at a rate faster than anyone.

'This skill is incredible, such a thing would allow me to become the best at anything given the necessary time and resources. If I can advance this skill to a higher tier I would be able to use it on Pokemon as well.'

I close the window and click on the other skill in my status, Telekinesis.
