KK wandered around town with a plastic bag containing two bottles of wine, standing on the railing, looking down at the park below. He saw small bushes growing under the railing.
At this stage of his life, KK was at its lowest point. He felt that everyone had abandoned him. He was drunk, but he was still aware of his surroundings. KK's tears streamed down his chin. He said sadly, "Let your ugly fat body die there and fertilize these bushes." He chuckled.
KK climbed over the railing and fell into the bushes. KK sat by the bushes outside the city, holding a 9mm pistol in his left hand, took a deep breath and continued drinking the bottle of liquor. He was drunk, but still not drunk enough. He dropped the empty glass bottle on the ground and opened a second glass bottle.
After KK was discharged from the hospital, he discovered that the bank account of the resort of twelve million eight hundred thirty-two thousand five hundred baht has been closed. His personal bank of two million two hundred thousand baht was also depleted, with a zero balance. His house was sold, he accumulated a large loan outstanding, and his resort was on the brink of bankruptcy. His phone kept vibrating around him. He got angry and threw the phone on the ground. His phone slammed into a nearby rock and shattered into pieces. He raised the gun and pointed it at his left temple.
KK murmured, "Dear grandfather, if you still want this fat ugly grandson in this world, please give me a sign." He waited for a while, but all he heard was the loud tires on the street and the noisy city noise. "Very good...I deserve to be in hell with all the ugly devils."
KK leaned his head against the concrete wall, took a deep breath, and exhaled. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, a drop of water fell on his face. The drop of water ran down his cheeks to the corners of his mouth, and he could taste the faint salty water. He opened his eyes and saw a man leaning his head down over the railing. He heard rapid breathing. Immediately afterwards, he heard the whimper of a young man sobbing softly.
"Santichai Kittibun...you have to be strong...this is not going to kill you...you understand...this is not going to kill you. You are strong...you are strong...Santichai Kittibun you are strong..."
KK watched Santichai count to fifty and he exhaled. He saw Santichai wipe his tears. Then he heard another man running towards Santichai.
Decha asked, "Chai, are you alright?"
Santichai said, "I'm fine..."
Decha asked, "Are you sure?"
Santichai bursts in tears, "Frank, it hurts so much...why is he dating another woman? Am I not good enough?"
Decha sighed, "You are too good for him, if you want to break up with him, I'll support you."
Santichai sobbed in Decha's arms, "But I love him...I don't want to break up with him. I love him...I don't mind if he has a girlfriend. I know my relationship with him needs to be a secret, but why did he bring his girlfriend? He acted like I'm a mannequin with no heart and no feelings. I'm a human being and I know what pain feels like...why? I gave him everything that I can offer, I did the best. Is my love for him that cheap?"
Decha sighed, "Don't cry anymore, I'll talk to him, alright? I'll take you somewhere else."
KK watched the two young men walk away. He dropped his left hand and dropped the gun. He thought his love was cheap, but tonight he found out there was a man named Santichai Kittibun whose love was even cheaper than his. He laughed hysterically.
KK laughed and muttered, "So it turns out that beyond the sea, there still lies another sea." He continued to laugh.
KK got up slowly and found that the mobile phone on the ground was broken. He picked it up, put the broken cell phone in his pocket and the gun in his coat pocket. He climbed slowly up the concrete wall and over the railings into the busy street. He didn't know how he crossed the road, but he found himself in front of a hotel. He went in and booked himself a room. When he got to his room, the alcohol began to kick in. He was so drunk that he didn't know his surroundings. The next thing he remembered was waking up on the cold bathroom floor. He took off all his clothes, climbed onto the bed, and passed out completely.
KK didn't know how long he had passed out, but when he came back to his senses again, he heard the phone ringing in the room. He reached for the phone.
KK asked in a vague voice, "Who?"
Mrs. Cole cried, and she said, "Hinata...where are you? Do you know your mother is worried about you? Please don't be stupid. Don't let your grandfather's words cloud your judgment."
KK said, "Ma, I don't know where I am, but I'm fine."
Mrs. Cole asked, "Did you bring your grandfather's gun? Please tell me? Hinata talks to me, don't hang up. I'm almost there. I'm coming to hug you, don't be afraid. Just keep talking and don't hang up."
KK said, "I took it. Ma, I'm sorry..." He suddenly felt the urge to vomit. He quickly put down the phone and ran to the bathroom. He slammed the door shut.
Mrs. Cole cried out in fear, "Hinata! Don't do anything stupid. Hinata! Ma is coming for you."
Mrs. Cole's driver parked in front of the hotel and Mrs. Cole rushed into the hotel. The doorman stopped her, but her two guards pushed the doorman away. Mrs. Cole rushed to the front desk. "Where's my son?" She exclaimed.
The frightened woman asked, "Who is your son?"
Mrs. Cole said, "I called just now, and you transferred me to his room."
The young woman said, "He is in room 308."
Mrs. Cole demanded, "Gave me the key card."
"I can't. It's against our hotel policy," said the young woman.
Mrs. Cole slammed her fist on the counter. "If anything happens to my son, I'll hold you accountable, and I'll make sure your company goes bankrupt," she shouted. She reached out to the young woman. "Give me that dam key card or I'll burn this stupid hotel to ashes."
The young woman handed Mrs. Cole the extra key card in shock. Mrs. Cole yanked the key card away. She and her two guards disappeared into the elevator.
Mrs. Cole stood outside Room 308; her mind was blank. Nothing could be heard from room 305, the gun was gone, there was a loud bang, and she couldn't imagine what she would find on the other side of the door.
A guard took the key card from Mrs. Cole's trembling hand. "Ma'am, I'll open it for you." He inserted the key card and the door opened. "I'll lead the way."
Mrs. Cole said, "No... I'll take the lead. He's my son and I'm not afraid of whatever state I find him in."
Mrs. Cole entered the room and found no one in the room. She saw KK's clothes scattered in the room, and the bathroom door was closed. She slowly turned the handle and walked in. She saw KK naked, with his head hanging on the edge of the toilet.
Mrs. Cole burst in crying, "Hinata!" She picked up his head. "Hinata!"
KK opened his eyes. He murmured, "Ma..."
Mrs. Cole cried and hugged KK tightly, "My poor baby. My sweet baby boy. Your mother is here. Don't be afraid. If your sky falls, your mother will hold up that sky to keep it from collapsing on you."
KK cried and said, "Mom, I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
Mrs. Cole's lips trembled, "It's my fault... I'm sorry... I'm not a good mother..."
KK cried and said, "I'm sorry...you're a good mother. It's me...I'm not a good son...I'm a weirdo who will never be able to make you proud." He buried his face in Mrs. Cole's chest and continued sobbing.
Mrs. Cole smiled and kissed KK's forehead with tears in her eyes. She hugged him and said, "You are my perfect son...you are the best son a mother could've asked for." She kissed KK's forehead again. "My beautiful baby boy, you are my perfect son and have always made me proud." She cried and hugged KK tightly.
KK cried and said, "Ma, I'm sorry..."
Mrs. Cole said, "You may fall today, but you need to get up. You have to pick yourself up and put all the negative things people say about you under your feet. My son is smart, strong and these little obstacles will not break you." She hugged KK tightly in her arms. "You will always be my perfect son, remember that."
KK collapsed and hugged Mrs. Cole tightly, "Ma...I'm afraid..."
Mrs. Cole cried her out, "I'm here...ma is here...and this time, I will not fail you."
