Apology from Avril

Anthony's POV

Death can relieve the tension and pain we experience, but it's only when I actually face it that I realize that it's so terrifying!

In this battle with the Blue Moon pack, we finally won.

Those territories they took away from us, we managed to snatch back.

But no one knew that this battle left me mortally wounded.

As the most powerful Alpha of the Silver Lake Pack, of course, I couldn't let the others find out about my injury, so I went into hiding.

To be honest, I don't fear death.

But if I die, Avril, the woman I love most.

What should she do?

Thinking about Avril, I leaned against the tree and sighed loudly, then wrapped the bleeding wound with a piece of cloth.

When I was very young, I knew I would become an Alpha warrior.

At that time, my parents were very strict about the requirements, and I had very little time to myself every day except for exercise.

And Avril's appearance changed my boring life.

When she was little, she was kind and lovely.

Whenever I was sad, she would be by my side.

She was like a moon goddess who lit up my world.

However, after the death of my parents and her mother, everything changed.

I became the new Alpha of the Silver Lake clan, while she began to alienate and hate me because of her mother's death.

She started dressing up really ugly, started becoming friends with the bad girl Marcia, and started liking other wolves.

I felt cranky and angry.

But nothing could change.

Just when I thought that she and I were going to be enemies forever, my wolf told me that she was the MATE I was meant to be.

The moon goddess and I played a joke

I left my whole heart for her.

She loves someone other than me!

Avril refused to be my mate, and she even cut her wrist with a dagger for the one she loved.

This made me couldn't help but feel a little angry, so I forcibly marked her.

In fact, she didn't do anything wrong.

She just fell in love with another man.

But it was too cruel for me to accept that fact.

That's why I did what I did to Avril when she was hurt.

Will Avril hate me?

Maybe she will!

But it doesn't matter, I'm going to die soon.

When I die, she will be free to be with the person she loves.

The sun shone on my face through the leaves, but I felt very cold.

I wanted to get up, but I couldn't.

My body was weak and sore, and I couldn't even exert a single bit of strength.

I was really at the end of my rope.

The darkness soon engulfed me.

I thought I was dead.

But when I opened my eyes again, I saw the blue sky.

Just as I was trying to figure out where I was, I tilted my head slightly and saw Avril sleeping beside me.

The sun was shining on her beautiful face, making her look very quiet and gentle.

It was like she was in a beautiful painting. I looked at her and felt like I was dreaming.

"Anthony, you're finally awake! How do you feel now? Are you still uncomfortable?"

She opened her eyes and asked me with concern.

This was the first time I saw her like this and I was really not used to it.

"I'm fine, why am I here?" I asked with some confusion.

"My wolf sensed that you were in danger and I found you while you were passed out."

Avril told me that because I was a bit seriously injured, she was afraid of causing uneasiness among the wolves in the Silver Lake pack, so she was the one who took care of the wound.

This made me feel surprised.

Since when did Avril know how to heal wounds?

Just when I was wondering, Avril grabbed my hand with a very serious expression.

"Anthony, I want to tell you something very serious."

"What is it?" I asked her.

She looked up at me and said, "I did make a lot of mistakes in the past. I have hurt you. I'm sorry ... but you can rest assured that I have learned from my mistakes. I will definitely change my ways!"

She seemed afraid that I wouldn't believe her, so she added: "I know that if I just say it, you'll think I'm lying to you again. So later, I will prove it to you with my actions. Just you wait and see."

Listening to her words, I didn't know how to react for a moment.

Her words sounded like they came from the bottom of her heart, but were they true?

I couldn't believe it; after all, she had hated me for much longer.

However, just as I fell silent, I suddenly felt a cold sensation on my lips.

My mind went blank.

In the sunlight, Avril stood on her tiptoes and offered to kiss me on the lips.

I froze and subconsciously took a step back.

However, she clutched my shirt as if she didn't want to part with me.

Avril's kissing skills were not superb, but they showed how innocent and beautiful the kiss was.

I quickly embraced her body and kissed her back.

Compared to her gentle kiss, my kiss seemed dominant and impulsive.

Eventually, her entire body was pressed against the grass by me.

My palms gradually moved to her chest.

If things had continued, we would have eventually made love.

But at the last moment, I suddenly stopped.

I quickly realized I couldn't do that. After all, we were in the middle of the wilderness.

A little frustrated, she asked me, "You really don't go on?"

I sighed inwardly.

I couldn't really be ruthless in denying Avril intimacy.

I frowned helplessly and whispered, "Don't get into trouble. The wolves of the Blue Moon Pack may appear again at any time."

Avril nodded in agreement after hearing my words and said, "Alpha, I suspect there are betrayers inside our Silver Lake pack!"

Betrayers?

"Why would you think that?"

Avril told me: "The rogues who broke into our Silver Lake pack a few days ago said that our wolves in charge of security were so trashy that they got in with little extra effort. But this is very wrong, the wolves in charge of security in our pack are all very powerful warriors of the Silver Lake Pack, and it's impossible for them to not even be able to beat a rogue. Therefore, I suspect that there are betrayers who deliberately let those hooligans in."

When it comes to what happened a few days ago, I could clearly see that there was still fear under Avril's eyes.

I can understand her fear.

Twice she had almost been forced to have sex by hooligans, of course, she would feel afraid.

"Don't be afraid, I will protect you, and it will never happen to you again," I reassured her.

"Well, I believe that you will always protect me, even if you lose your own life. But Alpha, the most important thing we have to do now is to find the betrayer, not give him a chance to escape."

Avril was right, I had to find that betrayer quickly.

Otherwise, all the wolves in the Silver Lake Pack would be in unknown danger.

As for Avril's claim that she'll prove she's changed by her actions, let's wait for time to give me the answer!
