The scent on Roxy Jenkins remained the same fragrance it had been many years ago.

Tobias Perkins had grown accustomed to it but, after a long period without seeing Roxy, suddenly found the scent deeply evocative of his memories.

Their brief romance couldn't be described as particularly good or bad.

Perhaps, like many couples who aren't meant for each other, it was destined for an eventual separation.

With his own body strength, Tobias propped up Roxy.

"What's wrong?"

Roxy leaned into Tobias's embrace, unwilling to get up, and pointed to her feet.

"Tobias, look, am I stuck?"

Tobias glanced down to see Roxy's high heels firmly wedged into a drain, the entire heel tilted at a thirty-degree angle.

No wonder Roxy had fallen.

"Hmm, but it seems like you twisted your ankle just now, are you alright?"

Tobias asked with genuine concern.

Roxy shook her head and said, "My ankle hurts a bit."

Tobias squatted down and took a look at Roxy's now slightly swollen ankle.
