Human hearts can be the coldest.

Tobias Perkins understood this from a young age, especially since his own father was the most ruthless person in the world.

Despite being his son, despite being his close relative.

Yet Luke Perkins' attitude towards him was always worse than towards others.

At first, Tobias thought it might be because he wasn't good enough. Later, however, he realized that even those with lesser abilities than him would receive praise and encouragement from Luke's mouth.

But when faced with his own son, only endless belittling and scolding could be heard.

Especially when he did something impressive or outstanding, Luke would show even more disdain towards him.

At a young age, Tobias couldn't comprehend this, but now he understood it all too well.

It was because Luke did not want Tobias's growth to surpass his expectations, much less exceed his own abilities.

To Luke, Tobias was a threat, not family.
