Hearing this, Renard Quinn let out a wry smile and responded, "Unfortunately, there are no 'what ifs,' and time can't be rewound. Even my own family wasn't attentive to me; how could I learn to be?"
Olivia Taylor simply continued eating her breakfast, not looking at Renard.
"Not all of them, surely. What about Uncle Pine? Wasn't he attentive enough?"
Clearing his throat, Renard nonchalantly tore off a piece of bread and popped it into his mouth.
"Of course, Uncle Pine was very attentive."
"Uncle Pine is a family member and has been very attentive towards you. Have you taken the time to visit him recently?"
Renard was speechless at Olivia's question.
It was only when Renard last visited the hospital to see Sophie Quinn that he also briefly visited Uncle Pine. Now recalling this, Renard realised that he hadn't even asked about Uncle Pine's wellbeing or whether he was coping physically.
