Jinxed

"Sob" the girl cried into his chest, her small weight pushing against him as they lay on the cold floor of the black room. " I'm so sorry for doubting you! Please don't abandon me!" she cried, taking a tight grip on his shirt

"Please don't leave me"

"Please" she begged, her voice sounding more desperate than a man who had not drank water in years and just repeating the same word over and over, pleading and imploring "please, please, please, please…"

She passed out cold, her voice disappearing into the abyss of the room

Momentarily speechless, cane simply stared towards the weight on his chest, unable to make out any shape or form with his eyes. By what he could feel of her body on his she was small, small like a child and as he moved a hand he placed a hand on what he believed to be her face. It was cold, her lips were chapped, and her face was wet, showing the amount of tears she had shed, however, the biggest feature he made out was the clear and unmistakable feeling of her skull. Her cheeks were sunk into her face and her skin felt tight to the bone, indicating malnourishment, it seemed this girl had been here for a while.

Slowly raising himself up, cradling the girl in his lap as he did so, he tried unsuccessfully to pry her fingers from his shirt, but she held fast even unconsciously. However, before he could try further the world shifted drastically

He was blinded as the lights returned, slamming into his retinas like a small truck and causing him to his, raising a hand to shield himself from the burning feeling. As he blinked away the tears that had sprung up in his eyes he began to look around the room he was in, or to be more accurate the large chamber. It was nothing but an expanse of concrete, spanning hundreds of meters across, just a landscape of clean gray stone that seemed to cover everything

And as he looked around he could see figures both near and far away, separated by walls of glass, some staring at him or each other and others curled up. It honestly felt similar to one of the catacombs outside areas, only far more featureless

And as he was looking around, a voice began to blear from somewhere

"Hello my children" a voice rang out, male and sounding elderly "the day has finally come, you have spent your penance and now the time has arrived" the man finished clearly building tension

The voice had sounded odd, almost fatherly in tone yet also emotionless, like a teacher preaching a lecture to those they already knew to be near hopeless.

"The time for your entrance into the arms of Emancia has arrived!" the voice now boomed echoing off the walls and sounding fanatically joyous

"Emancia?" Cane questioned, trying to place the name somewhere in his head, it sounded familiar after all. And after a moment it kicked in "Oh you've got to be shitting me?!" he exclaimed

Leandro had jinxed him!

Wanting to kick the crap out of a certain blond, Cane sighed audibly, causing the small weight in his lap to shift. Looking down Cane finally saw the girl who had been crying on him not too long ago, her spiral eyes staring up at him unblinkingly

A nun?

Starring back Cane looked the girl over, inspecting her clear religious garb, she was wearing the usual nun garb, although seemingly more flash and rich seeming, her black and white garb turning far more dresslike towards the end, even separating at the leg to reveal a glimpse of stocking and a garter belt, something he was sure wasn't normal nun attire. However more interesting was her headdress and face, her headdress was similar to that of normal nuns, although slightly more flamboyant, held up to large metal crucifixes that rested against the sides of her head. Her face while showing clear signs of malnutrition was like that of a porcelain doll, pale and slightly androgynous though cute nonetheless. But her main feature was the one staring directly at him. Her eyes

They were nothing more than black and white spirals, similar to hypnotic circles, and they had yet to blink! Her eyes filled with some unknown emotion stared widely at his face, never moving and never shifting, as if they were staring through him entirely

"Ahem" Cane cleared his throat causing the in his lap girl to flinch slightly "i believe introductions are in order" he began "my name is-"

"I know who you are" the girl spoke, interrupting him, her voice filled with joy and wonder

"You do?" Cane questioned, wondering how the hell a girl as young as this would know anything about himself or the catacombs or the barlow family

"Mmhm" the girl hummed, nodding sharply

"You're God" she said simply, wrapping her arms around him and giving him a tight hug

"What?!" He demanded, extremely confused and more than a little worried " I'm not-"

Thankfully he didn't have to explain the nuances of religion to a little girl/grown woman (he couldn't figure out the girls age) as the voice continued to speak

"My dear children, the time of your reconciliation and rebirth has arrived! Please follow the shepherds as they will lead you to the promised land!" as the voice quietened, leaving echoes in the mind of all the rooms occupants the walls of the gray room began to lower, one wall for each separated cell, revealing a white light

And from this white light people appeared, wearing togas and each sporting a golden mask and rifle.

"Please follow us, children of Emancia" they echoed, speaking simultaneously in a booming and digitally altered voice "we shall show you the path to paradise" before suddenly shifting to the side, opening a path between them which Cane slowly walked through carrying the small girl on his back as she refused to separate from him

How stupid was this situation?
