6: Lucy

Night drew in much to quickly. I had everything ready for the karaoke fun. Karaoke DVDs piled on the table. Mics plunged in. A pitcher of cold juice and small glasses stood inches away from the stack of DVDs. Bowles filled up with chips and other yummy treats, paraded across the room. A knock came to the door. I made my way towards the door and opened it cheerfully. Feeling how it slipped away. "What's he doing here?" I spat, completely forgetting my manners. The new kid standing a little behind my friend. "Good evening to you too Lucy. And as for Natsu, I've invited him. You should give him some slack you know, he's just being friendly," Erza told me. I stared at them speechless. He asked me how my day had been. Me being not quite myself, gave him an unattractive snort. "Like I'm going to tell you!" I could see how his mood sunk into oblivion. I gave a sigh. "Just get in here already, or the people would think rudely of me." He gave me his signature smile.

My apartment at the hostel is rather spacious and cozy. In the corner a fire furiously burned logs to ashes. Heating up the cool night air. After a few awkward moments: Levi, Lisanna and even Gray- joined our little get together. Levi made excuse for her 'Stud man'. He won't be able to make it tonight. I turned my attention to Mr. Ex and said sarcastically: "You really shouldn't have come." He rolled his eyes, deliberately avoiding eye contact. "I didn't want to come. Erza made me. I had far better things to do with my time," Gray spat. I turned my attention towards my red haired friend and continued: "What's the reason for inviting this [I pointed a finger towards the salmon haired guy] friendly, overly awkward new dude-?" I paused as I focused my attention more on one. "....And this piece of scum?" Gray exhaled sharply, I can tell that my words cut like a dagger. What can he expect from me? Karma is a b***h. "Oh, so now I'm scum?" He choked. "That's a bit harsh don't you think," he stated in little more than a whisper. A lump stuck to his throat, his clearly struggling to swallow it down. "Pardon me for being bold, but I wouldn't judge a book by its cover," Natsu broke the awkward silence. Levi nodded in agreement. "His got a point, Lulu. You might even find him to your liking. I turned my back on them, my hair slightly brushed his arm.

Natsu:

She turned her back on us. As she walked away, her long golden hair brushed against my upper arm. The heavenly whiff of berries and cream played at my nostrils. "I strongly doubt it!" She half exclaimed. "What's with all of this negativity? It's not like you at all." The red head roared like a tiger. Shame clear on her complexion. "Sure, he did something unforgivable," Lisanna joined in. Gray threw his hands up into the air and mumbled something about him being right here. "You're being a b***h, Lulu. Lumping them up like this," Levi screeched.

In the end Lucy apologized to me for not being herself. I can't really blame her. After the heat cooled down, the fun began. Lucy has the voice of an angel. Gray and I ended up doing a duet, but it was more of a competition to see who could shout the loudest. It has been the most fun I have had in ages. Now I am even more determined to make Lucy my girl.
