Facing the blame

Meng Xiaxia sat on the bed in her VIP ward as she chatted with Ling Yehua. The two girls were having fun as they talked about random things.

Suddenly, two people walked in; a male and a female. The female was dressed in a black casual suit and her waist length raven black hair was let down. A black face mask covered the most of her face as her sharp focused eyes roved around the ward. Her expression softened when she saw Ling Yehua and Meng Xiaxia.

"Yehua, Xiaxia..." Zhuang Yuexi said as she hugged them gently.

"Yuexi, I didn't expect you to be here so soon" Ling Yehua said surprised. Zhuang Yuexi took off her mask and smiled lightly.

"I'm sorry to have bothered you,Yuexi" Meng Xiaxia said with a smile.

"No problem"

Meng Xiaxia shifted her gaze to the man standing beside Zhuang Yuexi. He was dressed in an all white apparel and his outfit coupled with his brown hair and eyes emanated a gentle, elegant and mature vibe. From her memory, he was Zhuang Yuexi's older cousin; Jiang Zichen.

"Xiao Xiaxia" he said his mild, gentle voice sounding alluring. She stared at him for a while, not quite sure how to address him since the original Meng Xiaxia didn't interact much with men apart from Xiang Runan. That was how loyal she was to him.

"Brother Zichen" she said after a while.

Jiang Zichen was quite taken aback. He'd known Meng Xiaxia for a long time yet, she had never been particularly close to him. She drifted even further when she started dating Xiang Runan in highschool. So it was very surprising that she addressed him so... so informally.

"Xiaxia! What happened to 'Master Jiang'???" Ling Yehua asked with a raised eyebrow " You've always addressed Brother Zichen as Master Jiang. What made you change?"

Meng Xiaxia felt a bit awkward. She couldn't tell anyone about the transmigration business... They'll think she went nuts after Xiang Runan broke off the engagement.

Jiang Zichen noticed her unease and came to her rescue.

"She did call me Brother Zichen as a child, didn't she?" he said softly as he sat down on a vacant seat crossing his long legs elegantly.

"Oh right, she stopped being close to guys after she met Xiang Runan because he was totally insecure" Ling Yehua scoffed.

"Hmmm. Xiaxia, Yehua told me you tried to kill yourself" Zhuang Yuexi's said her expression turning serious. Meng Xiaxia was a bit spooked by her imposing aura. Zhuang Yuexi had transformed into her cold CEO self.

"Hehehe... It was a mistake." Meng Xiaxia laughed nervously.

"Yuexi, Xiaxia is still unwell. You shouldn't scold her too harshly" Jiang Zichen said.

"Hmmm. We'll talk later." Zhuang Yuexi said and her expression softened. Meng Xiaxia felt the imposing aura disappear as she breathed a sigh. She stared at Jiang Zichen appreciatively. Maybe she should treat him to lunch for saving her twice.

"Yehua,how's her treatment going?" Zhuang Yuexi said turning to Ling Yehua.

"Well, missy here was very skillful with her knife. She made large cuts on her wrists which made her lose lots of blood and also she cut other parts of herself too. She was lucky not to have hurt vital organs." Ling Yehua said staring at Meng Xiaxia fiercely. At this news, even Jiang Zichen was furious at her. He was a renowned doctor so he knew what could have happened to her.

"I'm sorry!" Meng Xiaxia said timidly as three pair of eyes stare fiercely at her. Why the hell did the original Xiaxia resort to suicide?!! Now she was the one facing all the blame!!!
